Back to the actual topic now. BWV Dreamin we've talked about this for a few years almost. Do you have actual plans now or still deciding? I'm personally unsure what to do next. I am really not sure. There still seems to be many unanswered questions still. The points chart. While we will most likely stay in studios, I would like an occasional one bedroom. I cant entertain any resale without knowing the points chart. Opening price. I definitely am not paying $250/pt. Resale prices for VGF took a nose dive after sales opened back up for VGF. Again, can’t entertain resale yet until see how resale market reacts. Incentives. I doubt I will get any as I am looking at about 135 points. So this again pushes me to looking at resale. I am not sure the best deals will be at the opening timeframe. If the opening price is north of $220 I think there will be further incentives down the road. I just cant make any type of decision at this point. Poly resales are hovering around $145-$155/pt. If incentives bring the opening price down to say $175/$180/pt, resales will have to drop. helenabear Not having a point start does make it a little hard. I am assuming that based off of studio point charts at VGF, that PVB will be similar. I do wonder about the views we will get. I think we might get theme park views like the Big Pine key studios have. The DVC only structure, they don't have real theme park views so they don't have that third designation. I do think that we may see three different room types in the tower. I do have a decent amount of points at PVB at moment, especially when I put in my desire to stay CCV with those points. I won't need a yearly allotment but maybe every other year only. For me the bigger issue is going to be how annoyed I continue to be with the whole AP Park Reservation thing. I recently had a survey about APs and and taking the survey I realized I am really close to not renewing at all. I'm not even talking about not renewing initially, buying a new one, but not activating for a while. My current AP expires our last day next summer, and we always have a break until next spring. Fall is just insanely hard for us to travel during regularly. So I was considering not renewing anyway, but purchasing so that in 2025 we can start with a better renewal date than halfway through a summer trip. I'm also wondering if we can start downgrading size to one bedrooms for the three of us if we have that extra bathroom. My kid will be graduating high school in two and a half years though. I think my concern is what will our travel be like once he graduates. That's making it harder to decide too. So I have a lot of pondering to do. I need to decide if I am keeping my OKW points at all as well. And if I sell them off, do I replace them with just Polynesian since I know that's my favorite? Do I just downsize a little as a whole? Those are my harder questions to answer. I began saving for an add-on the day they announced this. I had been in the middle of a resale purchase for CCV, and realized I needed to save up for some more points again lol. However if I'm downsizing and selling off OKW, then it makes life a bit different. Lots to ponder.

Not surprised it is going to be part of the same association. Now I wish we purchased Poly back when it first opened in 2015 (I think thats when it was). Not interested in paying prices north of 200.00 per point though. I think point charts will be the same as VGF. Will there be extra bathrooms in the one and two bedroom units like AKV and BLT?

If you plan on using the grand villas I would probably keep OKW - as you know those are the best deal on property. I had been trying to book a grand villa there for mine and my sisters family when my mother was alive, but it never worked out. If using it for other booking categories, then you could sell it as it seems there, SSR, and AKV are usually available in the 7 month window - and use the money for the new poly. I am also trying to figure out when I sell a couple contracts. Also agree on the AP- every year I say I am not going to renew - but then I do.

Out of 20 years of ownership at OKW I have booked a GV a few times but always downgraded. The MFs aren't worth a maybe. So that's not in my check box of reasons to keep. OKW is my obvious first to sell and I won't miss it if I do. It's really going to turn into am I downgrading points now or not. If I am, how many total do I want? I'm pretty done with rate increase at OKW. If points get sold it won't be CCV or PVB which only leaves OKW. AP I am 99% sure I will not renew but may buy new to lose the whole AP expires part way through trip risk. That's the question though. Do I need an AP or do we go once a year for less days? I need to see where band trip in 2025 is too.

Drawings show 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom, and 3 in a 2 bedroom. I agree points should be very much like VGF. The studios are not the exact same now, but quite similar (give or take a point mostly)

So....Tower is part of the existing condo association, as I had expected. Made no sense otherwise. This means that Poly will go on sale and sell out before Riviera Resort.
I am expecting points to be very similar to VGF, just a point or two over VGF per night. I am more curious to see if they create a theme park view (or some other high point category) in addition to the Lake View category. A big plus for the resort, no restrictions on resales.

I have said this many times, to many people....life changes constantly, which makes it consistent over time. Trying to predict your travel plans and needs 3,5,7 years from now is like predicting if it will rain on July 4th next year.....it might or not. Your son might go to college or not. He could have a serious girlfriend and wants to bring her. He could be done with Disney for a few years. All I know is that your Disney vacations will change, then change again, then again. Look at me....We were a family of 5. Then the trips went from 5 to 4 to 2 for a few years. Then it went back to 5, then 6 and now 7 after GS #2 was born 8 years ago. The past few years its been flexing with "others" and friends coming along.
I feel that AP changes are coming. Just not sure if they will be next year or 2025.....lord knows Disney makes moves at a snails pace on these matters.
You might be a candidate for the EOY AP holder, to maximize your tickets and points.

For folks with families this is doubly true because of the variables.
But even for "old, settled" folks like us without kids, a case where one might think things are pretty fixed, they change.
We went from "studios are enough, never need more" to "wow, these 1BR are nice, we need a few more BWV points."
It was a minor change (and I really don't see more coming since we really have fewer variables. But, even in the simple case, things can change.
For NorCal, I can pretty reliably predict no rain next July 4, though
Cheers.

For me the bigger issue is going to be how annoyed I continue to be with the whole AP Park Reservation thing. I seem to remember that they were going to have "good to go days" for AP holders, where no park reservation is required. I've heard nothing about it since, and assumed at the time that Jan 9 would be when that would start.

I am very sure I won't renew at the end of our AP next year but with the idea we will just reset our renewal day the following spring. Normally this doesn't happen but with date shifts, we've been crossing UYs for our summer travel just due to natural calendar shifts. IIRC that changes next year on our school calendar and likely will be good for yearly renewals. But the rest is harder to decide on. We're at crossroads soon with life (2.5 years of high school left). Adding in my grumpiness with Disney is just not helping. Current girlfriend (of 1 year already - eek) doesn't think she likes Disney but back when she was 8 she caught the flu, had a super high fever and made her sick on Little Mermaid because she just felt woozy and was young. She has a bad association with Disney lol. Her mom thinks they should try again and we'll show her the not so MK Disney stuff we know she'd like. But like when you have food that makes you ill you tend to avoid it. So even young love I get it.. They may go or not. I cannot plan for that at the moment lol That makes all of this harder. My unhappiness with OKW rate of increase for MFs is now 6 or 7 years old. That seems to not change. I use those points elsewhere mostly so maybe it's time to let them go. I bought them 20 years ago dirt cheap and they are not my only direct status points. No rash moves but lots to go in. In 2022 when first announced I had in my head I'd buy about 70-100 direct points to pad my current PVB contracts. Mostly direct because smaller contracts in my UY were not easy to find. Now I'm checking resales more. I have time to decide for sure. Yes, that is my only saving idea right now. If good to go days are far and wide, I'll be content only doing park reservations during super busy times. If they aren't, I am happy to go just once a year with park hoppers.

What about the surest bet for dry?
On the other end of the nation, you'll find several areas where it has never rained on the Fourth of July (at least, since records have been kept).
San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Diego in California all report zero days with measurable rain on July Fourth – though, in 1898, the rain gauge at the USC campus in downtown Los Angeles did record 0.07 inches of rain. It's the only such rain measured in the L.A. area on July Fourth since the late 19th century.
This is a pretty amazing fact that I have never heard before.

What does this mean? Basically, you buy an Annual Pass every other year (EOY) but you stagger your trips so that you still go every year, but are 51 weeks apart.
For example, you vacation July 20-27 in 2024, then the following year you go July 12-19 in 2025. The trips fall under one annual pass.

I've never been able to do this on purpose with school schedules, but this year it might be one I kinda do. If they do WDW for spring break band again, it will be 8 months between but still no worries about renewing part way through a trip which is highly annoying with park reservations.
