Disney release a statement on the possible sale of ABC and its TV stations to Nexstar Media Group.
I also saw rumor that a second party was also interested in obtaining ABC.
As I have been saying, Iger will be selling off pieces of the company and its getting closer to reality. Disney originally paid 19B to acquire ABC in 1995. Will ESPN be next?

Rumors last May Disney was selling the entire Queen music collection for a billion dollars What other artist do they own . Bet they wish they owned Taylor Swift …anybody going to see her theatrical release for Eras Concert at AMC ?
I have been wondering if Disney has the distribution / ownership to the 2 release holiday 2024 & 2025 for new WICKED movie. Will definitely make more money than BARBIE Heaven help them if they passed on this one too kinda like Harry Potter, etc…

Disney was brilliant with DVC construction and maintenance costs … And college intern program government tax program Let’s start a list I think they would love to get rid of those bus drivers and they are currently building better drop off points for Uber and Lyft all over property. Academy Charter is the Disney Cruise Line Transport now and also all the shuttles for the college program needed to their future careers and Target WalMart Stores shopping daily runs . Plus that huge dual Campus for College Program domestic and International Apartment Complex was built and operated by a different company . State Farm connected with Disney . Starbucks

I do not know if it will, the two movies combined might. But it depends of what they put out on the screen.

They will not get rid of the buses. They "could" subcontract out the buses, like they did with Magical Express.
The College Intern Program is vital for Park operations.

That is a big devaluation for ABC and National Geuographic Tom, wasn't the original deal for ABC and ESPN combined? If they are breaking them up is the $10 more than the part of the whole?

Correct but Disney is not only selling off property but redefining what Disney means . They will never get rid of their Transport but I’m surprised they haven’t designed the trams with a tire company to cover the cost of the tires that probably deteriorated by sitting on parking lots since beginning of Covid… Actually Starling Chevrolet maintains the Minnie Vans locally and Disney corporate cars, etc… maybe they will provide the tires. You comment that Iger is selling off but they have masterminded corporate Disney sponsorship to anybody that will pay and also maintain .Disney wants and needs the profit but doesn’t want the problems anymore. I just want guests to be aware of the need for greed perfected by Disney.

Do you think APPLE wants ABC for content? I have said for years a merger of Apple Tech and Disney Media would be HUGE. What Apple could do with the Tech in the parks would be astounding. Merger the ingenuity of Disney Imagineers and Apple Engineers. Wow. And Disney brings so much to Apple and their content in both AppleTV AND to its apps and games.

Personally, I think a Disney - Apple Merger would be bad. Apple would only want the media aspects of Disney. Thy have zero interests or experience in running theme parks, cruise lines, timeshares, etc.

Intriguing, indeed.
Fair point on the lack of connection between Apple and the hospitality/tourism industry. But one wonders if Comcast had any interest before attempting its failed takeover of Disney and subsequently successful takeover of Universal.

There was an interesting article about Igner and his relationship to Apple the other day. It basically said or suggested that Igner was there and with his extended contract to be selling off parts of Disney. It talk about his ‘close’ relationship with Steve Jobs, prior to his passing. And eluted to that if he was still alive there would have been a sell off/ merger of parts of Disney? I know several have mentioned about certain aspects being sold to Apple. As much as I am an Apple fan, because they keep it simple stupid, as us non tech peeps like. I can go from a iPhone to iPad and years ago when I had a desk top and not need to readjust. The thought of Apple owning Disney…. Does not appeal.
Take over sell ABC, ESPN tv. I don’t watch them don’t care. But wdw magic kingdom brought to you by Apple..A bit much to digest.
The steaming channel they should Just dump, it did not bring in the revenue. ESPN, to many people are turned off when it became more about political statements vs sports talk. The have had to many controversal issues and some known broadcasters jump ship for other venues, mostly females. It’s Disney so they grew and grew. As with any business, maybe it was best to focus on what they did best. Keep your focus on that and what was making you money.

I think what is more likely is an exclusive deal with Apple on AppleTV and Disney+.
Hulu is something I never thought added Value to Disney. But, if you paired AppleTV, Disney+, Hulu, and HuluLiveTV then you have something.
I know most of us have Disney+ but the honest truth is it is still viewed my many as an option for young families. But with AppleTV it becomes a valuable addon for Apple to market.
I am a bit different than you guys on Apple in the Parks. First, Disney Tech and IT SUCKS. An affiliation with Apple could help that. I think the way they use their app at Disney and the now ever present Big Brother in the parks is used wrong and under utilized. And I think Apple could also make the park IOS favorable which would add sales for them.
