Dune 2, next season if Reacher, and Wonka coming out. Trying to get through Dune 1. But it’s getting to be slim Pickens so I will give these a try. For CSI:Vegas lovers, the next season is out! We had watched Dune, Part 1 a while back. In preparation for seeing Dune, part 2 yesterday, we watched Part 1 again. It's really going to depend on ones relationship with the books, I think. Both mrs. brp and I had read the books of the Dune saga many years ago, so this was a must, and we loved it.
We saw Part 2 in a special IMAX theatre. This is a dome that is bigger than a standard IMAX, with an expanded sound system that is stupendous. The desert landscape scenes were stunning in this monumental format. And we definitely enjoyed the movie and the acting.
Cheers.

I"m also looking for a new series. Not finding much right now. Bad Batch season 3 is great, 4 episodes so far, and again, the animation and stories are wonderful. Every Friday night, after the long work week, I just veg out on the couch and watch stuff like Dateline/20/20 or like last night, all the Law and ORders from Thursday night, so caught up on those. Typical L/O stuff, nothing great, but still good. I've been watching those SVU characters so long, can't believe how long those show have been on. DH picked a movie last week, Freelance....not good. I mean, I didn't expect much, but it was worse than that. And we like John Cena, like in Peacemaker, etc. but I'd skip this one. Peacemaker was a good series. I think I am going to try the new Dune. I have not read the books, and while I do remember the miniseries from the 80s, I didn't really watch it, so nothing to compare to. Trying to find some movies for DS to watch on our Disney trip next week. So far, I have Wonka, Oppenheimer (maybe) and Ghostbusters. maybe Forrest Gump. He hasnt' seen the last few Harry Potter movies, so maybe can talk him into that. So far, I think out of all these movies he's been trying, one of this favorites was Shawshank Redemption. He really liked that. Hard to find good storytelling like that

I saw a Haunting in Venice and really enjoyed it. I have Paramount and Peacock for the next three weeks; is there anything I should see on either? I finished Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Discovery on Paramount.

We're also watching Enterprise but, given the choice, I'd pick Lower Decks.
Cheers.

I'll have to check it out. I remember watching the cartoon series in the 70's, and it was kind of lame, so I was leery of Lower Decks. But, since a fellow Trekkie or Trekker liked it, I'll give it a try. I love Enterprise.

I am fully aligned with disallowing password sharing. Sharing allowed multiple households to steal service by sharing one account. Definite theft and now they have a way to prevent it. Yes agreed, there is a big difference between "I've got a tv upstairs and downstairs and then my wife's ipad" vs what we all know is happening. I use Pandora for music, and it won't let me play music on more than one device at a time. Understandable.

Little inside things that only someone steeped in the Trek lore would get. Some are more accessible and some are deeper jokes. And the guest stars from other series are fun.
Cheers.

Maybe if I bide my time, my wife (the tv watcher in the house) will someday pay for that channel and then I can watch them all. I've watched all the older Treks up to and through the one with Scott Bakula (back when you actually had to tune in every week at a certain time), Next Gen being my fav. Lower Decks makes me think of Next Gen meets Futurama, based on commercials.

TOS will always have a place in my heart. Voyager was OK, and Discovery, with a promising start, fizzled, IMO. We've not seen Strange New Worlds yet, but I've heard good things.
Thinking about this, I think that your characterization is very apt. Definitely a Futurama feel, somewhat more rude. But Next gen is probably the best Trek fit.
Cheers.

Strange New Worlds is my absolute fave from the newer series offerings. So much of a retro Star Trek vibe.
We can’t wait to see Dune 2.

I've been watching Death and other Details on Hulu, a bit too much sex and nudity, but overall, a pretty good story--lots of twists and turns. If I'm not cleared for work tomorrow because of my hip replacement surgery two weeks ago, I may finally watch Agent Carter on Disney+ next week. Sex and nudity is typically needed for my interest… Best wishes with the hip replacement recovery.

Just finished season 2 of The Tourist on Netflix. I liked it better than season 1 and hoping for a season 3.
