DH and I watched Barbie this past weekend. I put all my preconceived ideas behind me and really tried to like it. Really.
It was awful! I am stunned that this ended up with any nominations. While not feeling as strongly as I, DH was not a fan either.
BTW…DH loves “Ghosts”.

I know we're behind the curve on this and so far so good.

I also have enjoyed Ghosts. You can also watch the original BBC version but it is almost the exact same.

Yeah so funny on the different opinions on these movies. As for Barbie and Oppenheimer, well, I liked both movies, but I enjoyed Barbie a lot more. It was pretty heavy-handed and over-the-top on some of its messaging (subtlety is gone, I guess), but it was still pretty funny and thus enjoyable.
Oppenheimer was okay, but way too long and dragged on in a lot of places. I won't say it was bad, but I'll definitely never sit through it again. I'd much rather see a documentary on the subject rather than this dramatization.

Two new shows I'm currently enjoying are 'Death and Other Details' on Hulu and 'The New Look' on Apple+. 'Death' stars Mandy Patinkin and is murder mystery, 7 episodes are currently available. The New Look stars Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior and Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel. It takes place during WW2 and beyond. Fascinating to see what they did/didn't do during the time of Paris' occupation.

Just finished Star Trek Discovery season 4. I kept watching hoping it would get better, but it did not. The storyline was clumsy, the characters are mostly unlikeable (Reno and Book notable exceptions), and some of the acting was just plain bad. I love Star Trek, but it was awful. I'm not sure I'll watch season 5.
DH and I watched Oppenheimer Sunday, and it was amazing.

I'm not sure I'll watch season 5. I did like it, but that's mainly because I really do like All Things Star Trek. Compared to the others, it is not a shining example. It's interesting for me as I had watched the first 6 episodes on a long set of flights some years back, long before I had access to the rest. This was when things were dark and tense with the Klingon War. it looked dark, well-done and very promising.
So, when we finally got our free Paramount+ account, I was expecting more. I didn't care for Book as much, but loved Reno. I also like how they developed Adira since I love the Trill concept and they did a good job with the role.
Cheers.

After procrastinating for a few years, we finally finished Ozark. It was not the ending I was hoping for.

Really having a hard time finding something to watch. Hulu and Netflix, I am tired of starting a movie only to find the English is dubbed over foreign language. When the lips don’t match the words, the show gets turned off.
Disney+, finished Agent Carter. Really liked it but there has to be another season. The end was a cliff hanger.
Peacock, I get this free with my Xfinity Wi-Fi plan. Actually has some decent shows. Started watching the “Floor”. After the first 4 days, got boring. Stopped watching.
Prime Video. Not finding a thing on this channel. Any suggestions?
I am finding more things to watch on free channels, especially FreeVee, Tubi, Plex and Pluto TV. These channels are really stepping up their game.
So I have been defaulting to “ Dark Shadows” on the Roku channel. I am in season 2. I never saw this show from the very beginning and it is fun learning how the characters evolved. At the part where and kind of Frankenstein was made, called “ Adam” and Barnabas curse is tied to the life or death of this character.

I've been watching Death and other Details on Hulu, a bit too much sex and nudity, but overall, a pretty good story--lots of twists and turns. If I'm not cleared for work tomorrow because of my hip replacement surgery two weeks ago, I may finally watch Agent Carter on Disney+ next week.

I just finished Ex Pats on Prime which was pretty good. And I really enjoyed both seasons of Dr. Death on Peacock, both of which are based on true stories.

I don't post on this thread often. But I have to say, I can no longer find shows to watch anymore. Traditional TV (free tv) is void of good content. Too many "pay" for tv choices, that has shows spread out all over the place. But even the subscription TV services seem to be running thin these days.

Some channels can not stay solvent. Mergers are trying to happen. The sports arena still trying to look for other homes than ESPN. I’m tired of the price hikes. Now have to endure ads for cheapest pricing. Now going after password sharing. If I get 2-3 tvs per subscription it shouldn’t matter where those TV’s are. Just pure greed.

I am fully aligned with disallowing password sharing. Sharing allowed multiple households to steal service by sharing one account. Definite theft and now they have a way to prevent it.
It's hard to credibly cry "greed" at the same time as acknowledging solvency issues.
Cheers.

Dune 2, next season if Reacher, and Wonka coming out. Trying to get through Dune 1. But it’s getting to be slim Pickens so I will give these a try.
For CSI:Vegas lovers, the next season is out!
