Doughnuts were a bust! Facebook page was incorrect and they are no longer open on Sundays. Nice drive, but most likely won’t go back. Nothing out that way and not worth it to have it closed again. Donut King in Minneola it is then! Much longer drive, but it is a good stopping point on the way home from Orlando. Pretty sure they are open 7 days a week too.
Bill was bummed. Oh well….

"Good day, eh? We got the Coleman goin', the back-bacon's frying up." - Bob McKenzie, "Great White North" So we have a kitchen remodel and I don't have a kitchen. Turns out using the propane grill outside doesn't work well for boiling water or something. So I thought to myself, Remember when we'd go camping and use the Coleman? I climb a ladder and get it down off the highest shelf in the garage, along with the can of white gasoline that's been sitting there since, oh, I don't think I've used the stove since the latter half of the 1990s. Open it up, it's got cooking supplies in it from my old camping days! A spatula, a vintage-style folding toaster, a thing that looks like a long lighter but it only makes sparks when you squeeze it. And the super cute lil tiny funnel for the gas. Anyways, put a little gasoline in there and pumped it up (checking that it held pressure), read the instructions on the inside of the lid, opened the valve, and lit it, foom! Only a little hair burned off my hand. hee hee. But I can't believe it fired up first try, 25 years or more it's been sitting there. And it worked well. Kinda makes me want to bust out the lanterns but I have zero reason to use that. Being as how I am a kitchen and bath remodeler…… if you have any questions about what is being done , or if something doesn’t look quite right, feel free to ask me for answers. After 30+ years I still don’t have all the answers but I come close. We've seen pictures of some of your work. You do far more than come close!
Cheers.

Working on our 7/4 menu. So far it's grilled chicken thigh skewers and corn ribs. I have to find a street corn dip recipe, I'm thinking of modifying the recipe to use as a drizzle/dip for the corn ribs.

Our 4th will be a Zoom yoga class in the morning (the official in-person class is cancelled for the holiday), go and see Indiana Jones in the mid afternoon, then sit in the driveway and watch the fireworks over the valley.
The real shindig is next Saturday when we do our July party. We'll have 40+ people and I'll smoke a brisket along with some Filipino pulled pork Adobo silders for which we found a recipe a couple of years back.
Cheers.

Ooh. Nice. I haven't done a brisket in years. Too many hours on the smoker. I'm tempted to try 6-8 hours on the smoker, wrap in foil then finish in a 250 oven.

The trick is to do it on the smoker until about 165 degrees (the Stall). Then wrap in foil or (what I use) butcher paper and continue in the smoker. Really only like 9 or so hours this way. The smoker can easily do the same 250 as the oven and this works nicely.
Cheers.

Geez oh man, it's 75f here in SEPA with a real feel of 90 but Bay Lake has us beat with 85f/real feel 106f! Soooo glad I resisted another July 4th at SSR (although I do miss SSR... or maybe just Raglan Road - LOL).

Being as how I am a kitchen and bath remodeler…… if you have any questions about what is being done , or if something doesn’t look quite right, feel free to ask me for answers. After 30+ years I still don’t have all the answers but I come close. Well right now we are sitting in that very exciting phase of any remodel, that can best be described as, "hardwood floor install/finish is done, drywall is done, painting is done, waiting to hear from cabinet guy." I did the drywall myself, including - but not limited to - moving the stairs, filling in a doorway, making a new passageway for the stairs, and patching up all the plaster. When the painter approached me and said my drywall looked amazing, I felt pretty good about myself, for this is someone who sees it all day, every day, and I'm just a guy with no training. But hey. Now you can't even tell I did anything, which is the sad truth about jobs like drywall and painting cars - no-one noticing your work is actually the best compliment. I have electrical work to do, something else always gets in my way. But last week I got to do my first time cutting a hole in the roof! Scary moment. But now I have a nice new properly sized duct for the vent hood. Someday it will all be done, I swear

Being as how I am a kitchen and bath remodeler…… I don't have any plans to go into this professionally, but now I'm wondering, what does being a "kitchen and bath remodeler" entail? Like do you do everything from design to install and all that good stuff? Coordinate with trades I presume - plumber electrician tile etc. So far I am plumber, electrician, tile, carpenter, drywall. We farmed out hardwood floor because that has special equipment, we will have someone do countertop because she wants stone, and while I could have build the cabinets it probably would have taken three years so that's being done by someone. And my wife always has the same lady come and paint our rooms because she's in and out and it isn't too bad in price.

Hot!!! Hanging in the AC.
Michiganders out there…went to a wholesale store called Roses here….cases and cases of Faygo Pop!! Took me back years to days gone by. No diet unfortunately, not that I can drink that either but my parents would have found it amusing. They have Vernors too at Publix. My kids love that stuff.

I thought about next year…then came to my senses!!
