At least they were probably on a flange so you didn't have to use a easy-out to get the rest of the bolt out You are giving me nightmares! Been there plenty of times. I have had very little success with easy-outs, I usually end up carefully drilling it out and tapping. Now that I'm older and wiser, some good penetrating oil and lots of gentle back-and-forth on some of the bolts keeps most things from breaking. You are right, the bolts on this particular pipe were a flange setup, what gave me trouble was they were pressed-in studs and I absolutely could not get them out. Even wailing on them with a pretty good air hammer. I wonder if they work-hardened a little bit from the hammer because then they wouldn't drill either. I won the battle by cutting in the side of the flange with a cutting disc in the grinder, making the drilled holes into open slots. Probably should have done that first, saved myself a few hours of pain and struggle.

While my wife is a complete Figment nut it was so much better when they included the Dream Finder, The meet and great with the Dream Finder as a puppeteer was truly fantastic. Circa 1986, a very small me and my sister stood in awe at Dreamfinder and Figment, they were just wandering loose up top where the jumping waters are. People were standing around Dreamfinder who was holding Figment, and Figment was doing things like biting people's hats and stuff. Figment was alive and real! We were amazed, I remember touching Dreamfinder's arm and then my sister and I ran away (so as not to get caught) because I just found out that his arm was not a real arm! So THAT'S how Figment was able to move! Spoiler alert!

Sorry about your Lions, Dan, Kim, Pam, and Dave. Latest I’ve ever said that, but still a shame for sure. Hopefully soon.

However, I must say a national championship for the university you admire helps ease the pain as well.

It was a great year regardless, and now it’s even more fun looking forward to next year! Living in the Bay Area, I was so rooting got for the Lions to take out the niners. I was at dinner in New Orleans and feeling good at the half. Then at a jazz show where I kept sneaking peaks at my phone and less happy as things progressed. Reading the details was even more disheartening. But, yes, a great season for a great team.
Chiefs fan now...
Cheers.

Some here may remember me lamenting the loss of our 2000 Volvo, very sad at it not having made the 300k mark (296,3xx actually) due to transmission failure.
Well it has been sitting my driveway, a combination of procrastination and not-quite-ready to get rid of it yet. Something popped into my head, something I read a while ago, about "puncturing the filter on the AW55 trans". A lot of late-night reading later and a good amount of mad scientist "it just might work" -style thinking led to a hole being drilled in the transmission.
Like a frontal lobotomy.
The thing fired up and went into gear as good as you please; I drove it 25 miles (around my neighborhood - walking distance to home) this afternoon.
Time will tell! I'd love to get another 20k out of it, a couple years or so. A couple more days of cruising around no more than two miles away or so and I'll have to put insurance back on it.
