Working on our 7/4 menu. So far it's grilled chicken thigh skewers and corn ribs. I have to find a street corn dip recipe, I'm thinking of modifying the recipe to use as a drizzle/dip for the corn ribs. We don't do a do for the 4th. Our 4th will be a Zoom yoga class in the morning (the official in-person class is cancelled for the holiday), go and see Indiana Jones in the mid afternoon, then sit in the driveway and watch the fireworks over the valley.
The real shindig is next Saturday when we do our July party. We'll have 40+ people and I'll smoke a brisket along with some Filipino pulled pork Adobo silders for which we found a recipe a couple of years back.

Not sure how my comment got into your post that I quoted? Still don’t have the hang of quoting or multi quoting here. If you swap the view over to BBCode it makes it easier to arrange stuff. And then Preview shows what it will look like.

What are corn ‘ribs’? Pinterest has lots of recipes for street corn and street corn dip. Sounds interesting except for the warning part about cutting them. |

Do tell about the Filipino pulled pork. And thanks, slow learning curve with technology. Yeah, took me a little while to get the hang of this board's tech. But now I can make it work pretty well.
I don't have all the spicing details as mrs. brp makes this one while I smoke the brisket. But it's a pork shoulder that we do in an Instant Pot, add the spices while cooking, shred with forks and then put in a big tray and accompany with the little Hawaiian Rolls, slaw and stuff for folks to make sliders. Found it in a local in-the-mailbox magazine. Very tasty.

Just chatted with mrs. brp about this and spices are, basically: soy, white vinegar, star anise, cloves, garlic, paprika and likely some others. Basic googling finds very nice recipes for this. Instant Pot makes it fast...unlike the brisket

I remembered where the 3rd Donut King is…near/in The Villages. Very random post…been to 2. Minneola is superior to Winter Park location but still wonderful.
didn’t try for donuts for Bill. Publix has pasta buy one get one free so doing that instead.

Cheers indeed. My son showed up with all the fixings for Bloody Mary's.....Weather here has been sooo rainy - hoping the neighborhood still has fireworks tonight. There are a group of families at the end of the cul-de-sac that put on quite a display each year. We love sitting in the yard enjoying them.

Happy July 4!
A much needed (my knee thanks me - went yesterday to pick up more knee bands to sweat thru - TG they're washable) babysitting break. DD tells me GS is 'on the move' crawling like crazy and pulling himself up to stand. Meanwhile his elder sister is 'look at me!' (and I am cause she's an impromptu nudist; 'Where's the clothes?'). Thursday gonna be fun. I need to locate a stroller cause I know they're gonna drive me nuts. Hmmm, swimming pool too.
