We are finishing out our first stay at Riviera tomorrow. A 1 bedroom standard for 4 nights. This ends our goal of staying at all current WDW DVC Resorts. We are not extending it to cabins though. We like Primo Platto quite a lot and that's where it ends. The room is fine. The theme is neither good nor bad to us. We really dislike the location immensely. The skyliner is not fun, nor is it seen as a bonus. Lines are long. Constant stops. Very cold when it's not super warm out. I feel like the lobby, shopping, activities, craft/community hall, etc are all underwhelming. If we are tired of the parks, we feel like the resort just doesn't have enough. I do not at all understand why this resort has a premium for points. After 4 days we're done here. Zero plans to ever return for a stay. I mean I'd be looking for cash offerings first over this.
Anyone else have one and done resorts?

Anyone else have one and done resorts? Interesting, we had a different experience and enjoyed our stay there, but it's not our favorite. I would potentially return. On the other hand, my "one-and-done" resort is definitely the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I really don't have any interest in returning there. Savannah was meh, decor is dark and uninviting. The African theme is just not my aesthetic. It was fine, just kind of last on my list among the other DVC stays I've enjoyed.

I get it. I'm actually not a fan of Jambo and after my last stay I'll always go for Kidani. We like the over all vibe and had great views of the animals at Kidani but Jambo is a pass. I would stay if that's all there is to get. Same with VGF. I'd stay if that was it but not rushing. Not related to Riviera, we do know 1 bedrooms for 3 of us isn't our thing. We like the extra open space if someone wakes early. We also need 2 bathrooms minimum. I have survived with my kid in studios only because we do PVB with 2 showers. This was a total test run for us and it showed me all I needed to see for room sizes.

We have stayed at the Riviera twice now. While there are a few things I like about the resort, definitely not a favorite. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but something is missing. We like the gondolas, love the restaurants, and especially during our last stay, enjoy people watching from the balcony. Given the point cost, DH says never again. So, 2 and done.
My least favorite is SSR. Because everything is so spread out, I feel like I am in a disconnected condominium. DH on the other hand loves the access to DS. So, we will be back. For a park-lite visit, we both love AK…prefer Jambo for the lobby and the bar, Kidani for the views. Excellent dining! Can’t wait to see what the refurb brings because the villas are looking quite shabby!!!
Have yet to stay at BCV. We have tried at 7 months, many waitlists with no luck. Looking forward to it one day.

The newest DVC at VGF (the converted building) is one and done for us. Walls paper thin, hallway light coming through the door (easily an inch and a half spacing at the bottom) and there is just nothing cozy about it. Just not my cup of tea.

This is the beauty of DVC. There are so many different resorts and themes that everyone should have a place they like. While I like some resorts more than others (and had a great recent stay at Riviera), I would never be looking to pay cash over using my points at my least favorite resort (which is currently Old Key West).

Least favorite is OKW? That's heresy! Just kidding of course but proving your point that DVC has something for everyone.

The only two resorts I haven't had a chance to enjoy are RIV and HH (not including CA resorts). Each resort has its strong/weak points. My one and done? I'd have to say BWV. It's a fine resort, but it doesn't offer anything that BCV doesn't. RIV is on my list to try.

The VGF Resort Studios were one and done for us for all the same reasons mentioned above. I have yet to stay at BR, VGF, and BLT. We have been to RIV but only for one night and really enjoyed it but we def want to go back.

I would happily stay again, but would only choose it if it was the only resort remaining.

I have favorites for sure. Still, I'm fine with whatever is available when I book.
None of the DVCs come to mind as one and done. BCV, Poly, BLT, VWL and Kidani are my top five for repeatability.

I probably wouldn't say that about any other resort. If I were stranded due to weather I'd take it but I probably wouldn't go if that was all that was available. I would look offsite but fortunately OKW and SSR are usually open. I love that DVC has something for everyone. My favorites have changed over the years for sure. We'll be back to visit. I totally see us coming here for lunch while doing DHS but not for a stay.

Its been no secret that are one and done resort is the Poly. This will probably change with the introduction of the new Tower, which I will love and hate at the same time. Love that it will offer great views, its own amenities, MK access, good quick service and offer more than a studio.....bad because it just doesn't fit into the Poly theming.
Shocked that you did not like the community hall at Riviera. Its one of the few that our grandsons really like. I only have one dislike about the Riviera Resort and that the main pool is too shallow, not enough deeper water for a 6 footer like me.

I have my favorite resorts, but none that I would never stay at again. I do have my least favorite rooms at resorts that I would scream bloody murder if they tried to put me there again. Looking at you, Beach Club Villas Room 466. It was awful!

Looking at you, Beach Club Villas Room 466. It was awful! Ha....For us, it was Wilderness Lodge, first floor, second room from the exit door....room 1502! To be fair, it was not so much the room or location, but the guests in room 1500 who let their wild animals (I mean kids) play unsupervised in the hall for hours.
