We are hopeful and praying a little. DW and I decided to hold onto our PVB contract (and sold our SSR and BWV) when we decided to buy a place in Orlando (2 years ago). Here is to hoping that the existing contract will work…we will see if this was the right gamble. It will work.
The big question now is......will you have enough points to rent a 2-bedroom in a few years, when the boys are teens?

Guessing the points chart will be similar, if not a tad more, than VGF. But will likely be some of the most sought after rooms at WDW, imo. The points will be more than VGF. I think for a studio, you are looking at 2-4 points more per night, depending of the view.

Some are identical points. Some are 1 or 2 points more. A few are more with 3-4 a night. Across the board it's not easy to say which will be what and I actually expect rebalancing of some with the addition of 1 and 2 bedrooms as well as a theme park view that VGF misses for larger rooms. But it would be smart to take those numbers and at most add a few for studios. Guessing the points chart will be similar, if not a tad more, than VGF. Before they did bungalows lower, the points were nearly identical with PVB being a point or two lower. I wouldn't be surprised if they shift a little eventually.

Interesting, is there a timeline of when new sales would begin (I didn't read far into the article)?

I just saw that! So does that tell us anymore if Poly2 will be part of the existing Poly DVC?

I just saw that! So does that tell us anymore if Poly2 will be part of the existing Poly DVC? Aside from the fact that it was announced at the condo association meeting that it was going to be, yes this confirms. Following same as VGF.

Was talking with the hubby, says he thinks we should buy a fixed week studio the first week of December. I love this man ❤️!

Not sure VGF will help us. They halted sales not long after the announcement. I am hoping soon though but leaning more towards a few months notice for sales.

Cheers.

Cheers. What linked posting are you referring to? The article I posted said how it was like what they did at VGF before sales opened with BPK rooms. It was confirmed in December at the association meeting. This move seals it for those who took legal garbage as anything other than CYA that they will be same association. Some of the naysayers were vocal and put doubt when there shouldn't have been any.

From the link you posted: Back in December, Disney Vacation Club representative seemingly confirmed that the two would be merged. However more than 3 months since making those statements, no additional clarification has been forthcoming.
Emphasis on "seemingly" and "no additional clarification" mine. Again, just based on the actual wording in the article.
Cheers.

The Tower will be part of the existing resort, just like the new Grand Floridian building.
The halting of new sales at the existing resort was expected.
Not sure when sales will start, I would think they would want to wait until after FT Wilderness Cabins open. But the timing of the both resorts opening within 6 months of each other, will make it tough to hold off sales.
The Cabins started sales 5 months prior to opening. I am guessing the Tower will open Mid-Nov to Mid December, but I am not sure. Which would make sales starting around July.

That's exciting.....Get the top floor, theme park view! Is it safe to assume the studio points will be the same as the current Poly points chart? When purchasing a FW, I don’t think you can pick a location just views. I guess I will have to see what the points are for each view. I guess standard, lake view and theme park views. I wonder how they will incorporate the current Poly chart into the new Tower chart? As much as I would like to buy a FW, I will have to see what this is all going to cost. Wants vs needs LOL Two deal breakers for me are if the new Poly Tower ends up in the new Trust, and really high MF’s. So lots of info still to be released.
