I think disney is making a mistake to have brightline go to convention center (by universal).
It was supposed to go to disney springs.
Cant we get something convenient done?

Ok so you want to get off at MCO. Drag you bags to the train at an unknown cost yet. Get to Disney Springs or somewhere near it and drag your bags to a bus or call ride share. Or land at MCO, get your bags and walk outside, jump in a ride share and at your hotel in about 30 minutes.

I obviously haven’t been following… so the train won’t be coming to DS? Hmm… I was never sure how the whole luggage thing would work, so I’m ambivalent, I suppose. I just want the luggage service back. And the resort airline check in…

I was really looking forward to it but really I still am- By the end of this year I should have DS1 in west Palm and DS2 living in Tampa- The brightline expansion puts Orlando right in the middle with easy access to visit either of my kids…
I am really glad Universal stepped up donated the land and picked up the ball that Disney dropped once again.
Dragging bags through MCO was solved years ago with owners lockers and instacart/ shipt delivery…I am down to a under-seat travel backpack and that’s it. If I can’t shlep it through the terminal I don’t need to bring it.

Brightline is still planning on having a station near Disney Springs, but it will no longer be on Disney property.

But - silver linings - I really enjoyed having a car. This last trip we took was the first time we had a car, picked up at Tampa airport. Got our own groceries, got our own luggage, went to eat if we wanted. "I need bleach" hop in car and bam. Even the drive to and from the airport was nice, being on our own schedule and stopping to eat. |

If I can’t shlep it through the terminal I don’t need to bring it. I consider this more of a bullet dodge by Disney than a ball drop. This connection serves no useful purpose, so very OK that they did not get suckered into this.
Inasmuch as most people don't do the Owner's Locker thing, this connection via DS is definitely more problematic than other transport options.

I just want the luggage service back. And the resort airline check in… I think the whole luggage thing would've been a massive issue for Disney. Too many spokes to go out to hotels so to speak. I thought it was a bit further north than DS too making it not as great but I don't care. The luggage thing can be paid for. The company stopped offering the service to Disney during covid. Like Mears it was hired out to others. You just have to book it yourself. We stopped checking bags after a shoe issue but I used it when we did check bags. |

Train would have connected Miami to Tampa with stops at mco and Disney springs…
now it’s Miami to Tampa but DS is out & replacement is near convention center
