Cheers.

. Plus we don’t have to deal with people checking their phones every five minutes. Wow! Here in the U.K. you would be thrown out for being on your phone - if someone reported you. There was one time a while back, I think maybe the last Harry Potter movie, where a mum was texting right from the start. Someone left the auditorium, security came in, told her to leave and they restarted the movie (from the start).

July 28 - Haunted Mansion (budget $158m) Reboot, lots of big name actors. Previews seem funny....need more to see if its a hit or miss. Early Call....A miss! I like the concept and the imagery looks good in the previews, looks like being in the Haunted Mansion and kind-of creepy. But then I cringe when I see some of the big names, I feel like they would pull me out of the story, so I am scared of it being a lame let-down. I'm sure lots will love it, but I can see it being kind-of bad. A bunch of years ago I was reading stuff about Guillermo Del Toro looking to make a version of a "Haunted Mansion" movie, and I was pretty excited for a dark version of it. But that did not happen and now we get silly comedy bits. Like most of us here, I am a a huge HM fan, ride, theming, story, merchandise. Yet the movie, no desire to rush to see it. Previews/ commercials haven’t even captured my interest. I think it’s because of the big name actors in it. I am also worried they will detract from the story. I guess I will find out when it comes to D+, because it’s another movie I don’t feel I need to see in the theater.

I haven’t seen anything about Haunted Mansion here. No trailers, no adverts on TV, no billboards or bus adverts. Nada! I wouldn’t have even known about it were it not for this forum! I just checked to see when it’s being released here and had to scroll way down the page to the alphabetical listings to find it.
It opens on August 11th and I’ll be interested to see if it’s promoted at all in the coming weeks. Meanwhile Barbie and Oppenheimer became the first movies to take over £10m on opening weekend. But Barbie took almost double that of Oppenheimer, at £18.9m.

There is a new Please don’t ruin the movie Don’t be the Villain in the previews created to resemble a new movie villain that is very entertaining ; along with the cult following from AMC Theatres Representative Nicole Kidman Academy Award deserving performance … They also just released an incredible new movie release for Napoleon and The Color Purple . And Wonka Plus Disney has created a new Special 100 Years of Disney Memories short movie to air before the release of WISH that you will all “wish” you had seen on the big screen.
Currently DisneySprings AMC has a commercial before the movies during the trailers that highlights Disneyland Memories at The Happiest Place … everytime I see it I am happy but I wonder if they air one near Disneyland that highlights DisneyWorld for cross promotion insert hidden agenda to visit the other land… or World.

From what I can see, Oppenheimer was about $100M and Barbie was closer to $300M with advertising costing more than the movie. So barbie had better do better at the box office
Cheers.

I guess the last hour concerns the judicial investigation and Robert Downey Jr is unrecognizable in his role as Senator. I have not seen the movie yet . Need to fit it back into my schedule … Maybe go to CityWalk Universal visit in August . AMC is not at USO CityWalk. I think it might be a CineMark .

I immediately recognized Downey, Jr. and didn't even know he was in it. The eyes and the voice are unmistakable.
The treatment of the subject matter and the shifting between time periods was very well done. Very glad we saw this, but it is, understandably, not a "feel good" movie.
Cheers.

Well....Another Disney Movie release and another disaster at the Box Office.
At what point does Disney pause and realize that the problem is internal and they need to clean house?
I find it Ironic that Disney will cry about things movie crowds are not the same blah, blah blah. Yet, some how Barbie has made more money in 10 days than the last three Disney releases combined.
Final weekend number for Haunted Mansion was 24 million domestic, 9 million international.....ouch! This is going to be around a $300M loss to Disney!

We're going to see it tomorrow for 8 bucks each. Expectations are low
Cheers.

For that price, how bad can it be... Enjoy. I'm sure I'll see it at some point, too.

We are lucky. Seniors here pay 5.39 on all weekdays before 4 pm. I love retirement.
