So the hits keep coming. I was so hoping 2023 would be a good year. You know I never realized how ignorant I was when having kids. I just assumed if I was healthy and DH was healthy we'd have healthy kids and we did (Thank goodness!). I never knew half the stuff my eldest tells me. Now the 3 month old GS's head closed early so his brain has no room to grow. Apparently they can open it. I have this picture in my mind of Tom and Jerry with a huge can opener. Poor kid. I thought his ears were looking kinda big and now I know why. Our youngest was talking about having kids. DH said to tell her 'no'. Like when did she last listen to me - maybe 1998? Oh well, they say the Powers That Be have a plan. I’m so sorry. I will say some prayers. People look at me like I’m nuts when I say I’m okay with no grands. I know that I would love them, but I worry too much. I’m worn out right now.

I was downtown where the original buildings for the hospital are, and they have their own power plant which generates steam to heat the buildings as well as electricity. I looked it up and the building was built in 1928 and has expanded a couple times. (now that I think about it, they have two other power plants) Anyways, I happened to notice on the top of the building, some stone carvings - Not the best pictures, and I couldn't find any information about the actual carvings. But they appear to be in a classical Greek style, the one appears to showcase the foundry work of pouring the molten metal and they must be making a generator, and the other picture shows a completed generator and one of the guys is holding lightning bolts, it must symbolize Man learning to use electricity.

Thanks for the pictures! I love seeing that kind of architecture in older buildings.

Thank you all for the good wishes and I have passed on the successes to our eldest. She's grateful.
Yeah, having progeny is a 2-edged sword. My mother use say, 'Any women who married and had kids was a GD fool.' Of course, none of us listened. DH and I had been married 2 years when we accidentally created our eldest. We were both 24 and equally culpable. I still made him tell Mom while I was at work. LOL

Did I mention that 3 weeks from tonight I'll be having Happy Hour at the Oasis Pool, followed by a skillet dinner at Whispering Canyon?
