Back from 4 nights at the Boardwalk 18th - 22nd. That's our home but for some reason we hadn't stayed there for quite some time. I had forgotten just how much we like that area. Highlights:
Ate at Chefs de France for the first time in probably 10 years. We enjoyed it and had an exceptionally nice server, Sylvia. Jack jokingly asked her if her face hurts at night from all the smiling - she said yes - and especially that she is from Paris and no one smiles there. She was great.
Cast members at the BWV were very nice - bell services as well. Just a very pleasant arrival. First time booking a standard view 1 bedroom. I LOVED our room! If I could get that every time I would. #4123 - was on a corner so the layout of the living area and kitchen was different - very spacious. The bathroom seemed to be situated bettter too. The only drawback was the shower was square and just a bit small. Larger folks might have an issue there. But right across the hall were stairs that took us out so close to the parking lot near the tennis courts. So easy to get to the car, Also very convenient to the bus stop.
Bartender at the Wave (or whatever) was great.
Chilly weather on Sunday at AK made for a nice day to walk the tiger trail and nice for the Safari. Also not as crowded as I expected. In fact on our arrival day Saturday Epcot didn't seem too crowded either. Unfortunately HS on Monday was slammed. We didn't get there until 2PM since I had to work in the morning. But wow was it busy. All downhill from there crowd wise with Epcot much busier on Monday night than on Saturday and MK pretty busy as well on Tuesday. I am happy we aren't worried about doing everything and are happy enough to go to the parks for a bit and head out. Epcot was open late Monday so we did get to ride Remy with no wait. We finally stayed to see Harmonius - meh - thought it was a bit boring.
Also had a nice dinner at the Flying Fish - do really wish they still had the Chef's Table at the bar there.
Oh well - next trip isn't until December. Back at BWV
I think I had Sylvia! Young and cute as I recall… As for your trip, I’m going to get a complex pretty soon…. But glad you enjoyed, of course.

I keep insisting not changing the powder room even though DH hates what I did in there. Back about 20 years ago there was a DYI on BBC where they took an interior room and gave it an outdoor feel. I thought that was cool - DH was like 'no'. So I took the powder room off the laundry room and turned it into a 'garden shed' look with faux masonry walls, lattice ceiling and slate tile floor. I even put a small slate backsplash above the sink. He absolutely hated the ceiling because you could see the plumbing for the kitchen above. Well, the ceiling fell down about 2 years ago and we've been 'discussing' replacing it ever since. LOL

I've got a bathroom in the house with REAL masonry block walls...and you can see the plumbing above you, and all the wiring, and a commanding view of the back of the furnace so that's pretty sweet. Then there's a shower made of cinder blocks with copper pipes formed into a shower-valve setup, and there's a thin plywood door that doesn't go all the way to the floor but it does go up to about the top of your head. It latches with one of those little hooks that looks like a bent nail that you hook into a loop. We nick-named it the "camp bath" the instant we moved into this house, and it's still called that 15 years later.
Now I know it's desirable! And it's authentic hee hee

I feel so bad - I haven't been keeping up with anyone - home or away. I promise December!! We are in go-live now and I am buried. I actually worked half days while we were there. I almost canceled, but half a trip is better than none!

I almost canceled, but half a trip is better than none! True! Working half days from WDW is better than working full days at work!
