How much time does it take to travel back to SSR from Epcot on NYE? Our only previous NYE trip, we were at BCV, but unfortunately I don't have enough points to cover a week with the size of travel group I have. I already booked our Grand Villa at SSR, and was actually contemplating booking two 2 bedrooms for the night of NYE at BCV, just for convenience. Our travel group includes multiple people with mobility issues, so I was thinking being able to crash at BC for the night might be a good thing, rather than fighting the crowds. I keep arguing with myself on convenience vs point cost.
And how about travel time from Epcot to Riviera that night? I have enough points there, we could actually do a split stay between RR and SSR.
Our only other experience with a big holiday trip was 4th of July, and we were at SSR. I remember it took us at least an hour, and that was with using a taxi to get back to the resort. I am assuming NYE is just as bad.

I was just at Epcot this New Years Eve . I would recommend you book the Yacht & Beach Club for your family / guests. I think it will help to make the evening enjoyable and less stress for you to worry about. I had the option of BLT home resort or home in nearbyCelebration or book at the Swan . I chose Swan because I did not want to deal with the crowds and drinking , etc… I do not drink but I worry about all those others that do especially on NYE . Don’t forget , the deluxe resorts plan NYE activities on property . Also need to take into consideration the weather , etc. I hope my advice helps to make the best decision for your family on NYE 2025 !

We have been at Epcot for the past 2 NYE's. The first year, we were at the Swan and it was really convenient to be able to walk back at the end of the night, but we left when the fireworks ended and were leaving with a hoard of people. This year were were at AKL and we worried it was going to take forever to get back. We had rented a car and we hung out in the park until about 12:40 (it's open until 1:00) and we had no waiting to exit the parking lot or traffic on the roads. If we would have left right after the fireworks, it would be a different story. But now that we've stayed at a non-Epcot resort for NYE, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. You could also consider Caribbean Beach, with access to the Skyliner, if you hang back for a little bit after the fireworks, you may not have to wait too long. And agree that the resorts all have festivities happing for NYE. I know AKL had an 'early' countdown for those who didn't want to stay up until midnight.

Well....It all depends on when you are trying to leave the park, where you are in the park when you start to leave, how many scooters are in line, etc. I have found it always best to either be at the bus stop at 12:05 or wait an hour in the park, then leave.

And how about travel time from Epcot to Riviera that night? I have enough points there, we could actually do a split stay between RR and SSR. Maybe estimate it 2/3 probable that the wait is less than an hour and 1/3 probable that it's less than a half-hour. But I've also seen the Skyliner line all the way to the Beach Club; it's rare, but you have to at least consider the possibility. If an hour or more would be a problem, I'd do BW/BC. Nothing beats those for the certainty of a short walk home. I'd probly go into this day thinking "about an hour" and be pleasantly surprised if we get right on.

Thank you everyone for the input.
I wound up doing the Grand Villa plus a studio at Saratoga for the week, and then two 2 bedrooms at BCV for the night of NYE. Those that may need to escape the crowds of Epcot will be able to quickly get back to the resort for the night without hassle of transportation. And that provides enough sleeping spots for our large group.
How long until we think park reservations will be full for NYE? I read a report on FB somewhere the person posting booked a hotel reservation, then the next day bought tickets and park reservation for Epcot were sold out.

I have done similar in the past, where I booked a room at Swan & Dolphin on NYE night, just so I did not have to spend 2 extra hours getting back to my room.
