Is there a way to delete info such as email address from old site?
Also, when I go to profile, then “dashboard” on this site and click on the “red start button” I have numerous “ads” displayed. Some of these do not seem very family friendly. I am not the most tech savvy person and perhaps do not have some blocks set up properly. But I have not seen these ads until moving to this site.
Suggestions?

The ads are gone for whenever you log in. They remain only if not logged in. We have paid for no ads but it only works for those who are members. It's just kind of how it works. You can remain permanently logged in by clicking the remember me at the bottom. I might have been able to tweak a setting for not logged in too. But the above will work as well.

As for the old site, the email can be replaced, not removed. Mine has been changed to my junk email. Go to user CP and then under settings and options you'll see the spot to change passwords and email

Glad to have seen this question. Didn't really think about info still lingering at MO. With a few spam posts popping up in the last 24 hours, it does make you wonder how long things can go without some management, and I really don't want my email sitting out there on an under-regulated site. Others might want to make similar adjustments if you haven't already!

Others might want to make similar adjustments if you haven't already! I looked into all 3 spam posts. They all came from usernames created in the 2010s. Spammers hack into old uersnames and use them. So good time to change out emails and make passwords hard to crack. I am unsure how long the place will exist. It's been suggested to stop posting except to direct people to the new site so they don't get left behind.
