Well, this certainly won't be done in time for our may trip to VGF tomandrobin, I sort of agree on the nostalgia part. With that said, I can't imagine that this was a much-visited attraction, and repurposing underused space seems like a wise idea. Cheers.

With Tiana opening and the potential new land behind Big Thunder, I think this space could have been repurposed into something better to help with the crowds that will be in that section of the park. Repurpose something that is not being used (Looking at you Stitch, could be a meet n greet out frond and DC lounge in the back).

Welp....There goes another piece of Disney legacy. Pieces will be coming to an auction house near you! I would like to see a DVC lounge in MK, I would rather that they tap into a unused space or under utilized space. No one asked for Disney to take away an attraction for this. In this case I think it’s days were numbered anyway, too “problematic”.

Admittedly I thought this was still closed. So I probably won't miss it. Did I shoot there as a kid? Yep. Did we do it once since I was probably under 10? Nope. As much as I don't want to remove all old stuff, some things I wonder if it is worth keeping.

Nostalgia aside, I've also done this exactly once in the last 10 years, so personally wouldn't miss it.
Logistically, it's hard to see enough space there to become a lounge though, unless there's a lot of backstage space we cant' see. I have thought that the Epcot Lounge, while awesome is sort of secretive, and that if people saw a less hidden lounge exclusively for DVC, that it could help DVC sales.

My point is that they are removing an in-use attraction, some original stuff.....and putting in a not so public space, that will add nothing to the land.
There are other areas that could have been used....like the barely used store, opposite of Tony's.

I'll still be shocked if it isn't the old Stitch / XS-Tech place. Now I can't remember what that ride was called, without looking it up. The ride scared me too much but I thought the preshow was way cool, the whole S.I.R. guy and the tech demo.

This is disappointing for me if the location is true. My kids love the shooting arcade.

This is disappointing for me if the location is true. My kids love the shooting arcade. My kids and husband love the shooting arcade too! It’s always super quiet over there. The kids like to sit and play checkers at the little table nearby too. We post up there for the parade and it keeps the kids busy while we wait!! The bears (I don’t know their names) have gone up and shot around with my kids too for a super cute character interaction. This family will be sad if it leaves. I agree unless they’ve got big plans for stitch-put the lounge there!!

I think the Alien Encounter space would need too much work done to create a Lounge. It’s much bigger than they want for a DVC Lounge, and I think a significant amount of the tech is still there. And parts of it are used for storage for the ships in Tomorrowland. Plus making it into a Lounge precludes it being used for anything else.
The Shooting Gallery was going away anyway, is a much better size (I think a little smaller than the Epcot one), and is too small for much else than a shop.

I just tried the WDWMagic link and “ File has been removed “ Is the link working for anybody else ? I really want this to be just a rumor , a really wrong rumor . There is a comma in the url which breaks the link. If you copy the entire link and then paste it into a browser window, it will open.

Disney LOVES to add shops! A place to sell all that "NEW Country Bear Jamboree" merchandise that is in the works. Shirts that say "Chit-chat, yak-yak and flim-flam since 1971", maybe a Christmas-overlay one in November, even (ironically) a shirt that says "Frontierland Shootin' Arcade" maybe with a couple of the targets.

Yeah the EPCOT lounge is very out-of-the-way. This location has WAY more traffic and if it's smaller too, it will constantly be packed, with multi-hour waiting lists to get in.
