Disney year in review, lots of fun things, new and old

Merry Christmas everyone! Just dropped off DD at the Mall...She's worked the last few days, and it's been crazy. Thought I'd catch up on Disney memories.
Reflecting on our 2 trips to Orlando this year, June was all four of us, Oct was just DH, DS, and me. Lots of fun times, and lots of firsts, or firsts in a very long time

1st trip to Seaworld (since I was a kid)--checked off Mako from my coaster list, and it was SO fun! Kids enjoyed the other coasters, and I loved the nostalgia of the Sesame Street area. Lots of pictures in front of Hooper's Store 

Universal fun: finally tried a crepe from the Crepe stand, and it was as good as everyone says. Just a pain to get, but yum! 

Checked out Minion Land,and new Minion Blast attraction in Oct. It's fun, but I need a lot more practice, and would only do w/ short waits. 

Halloween Horror Nights-first time with express pass , and worth every single penny of its crazy expensive price. Loved almost every house. 
First time though I was done w/ the event and back in room before midnight. Feet and knees could not stand it

First time getting the elusive Ruby Pass....what's that you say?? that is what you get when you spend 2 hours in a line at premier ride, like Velocicoaster, and make it to the end, only to be told ride is on extended downtime. Ruby pass will get you on any ride at Universal/IoA, so since VC stayed down all the rest of the day, used it on Hagrids...first time on Hagrids in 2 years. As fun as it is, it's quite a hassle to ride, and always has a long line. Also first time NOT getting nauseous on the Simpson's ride. It usually gets me in about 5 seconds. 

Disney firsts
First time riding a Main Street vehicle at rope drop. DH and DS had gone off to Space Mtn, and I had some free time, got on the first double decker ride of the day. fun, and great views

Guardians-first time w/ Everybody Wants to Rule the World as the song, too slow. Now I've heard all but Conga. 

Spaceship Earth-first time listening in Spanish. DS is taking it in school, so what the heck. He was able to read most of the prompts at the end, when choosing our Future

DH and I each built a lightsaber at Savi's. So much fun!! He chose Power/Control, and I chose Peace/Defense. Honestly, I like his a lot better. 

First time no rope dropping AK. Just late nights, closing it down. DS and I were the last ride on Dinosaur one night, after a crazy long wait. DS and I also took a lot of time walking around, just enjoying the animals, Nice memories w/ the teenaged boy, gotta make em when you can

First time Tron! very fun ride, great addition, Agree it's too short, and riding in that position is awkward. Also first time driving to MK for the day, in many years, due to getting BG 1 for Tron. Missed the first bus from AK, and no idea how long another would take, so driving it was. Even tho we always have a car in Disney, we rarely ever drive to the parks

Latest night out at theme park yet, with the MK late night hours, by the time we rode Tron, etc, got back to room at 2:45 AM!

First time using mobile checkout at the EMporirum, easy enough I guess

First time Geyser Point. DH and I did a walk up, and enjoyed bison burgers and a margarita flight by the water. It was wonderful.

First time California Grill. Delicious meal on our anniversary. 

First time NOT enjoying my Ronto Wrap. It was awful. I hope that's not indicative of some type of change, because I LOVE Ronto wraps

First time at Baseline taphouse. Finally worked out for DH and me to sit and enjoy some people watching time and beer there. 

First time doing late night hours at HS, and got way more done than expected. I had the top score in TSMM for our car! beat DS and DH. Also on the last train for MMRR

First time staying at SSR, since our first DVC trip in 2011.

Lots  and lots of other great memories this year. What are some of your new ones (or old ones) for 2023??
