Gonna also recommend polite pig for a great selection of whiskey in WDW. They even have Pappy's if you want to pay $100/once.

My last trip was over 4th of July and we dined at Narcoossee's for the first time. Take it from someone who's been to California Grill 20+ times, Narcoossee's is the place to go now if you're on the Monorail. Narcossee's has always been one of our top choices for dining. Something like 15 years ago, the one and only time we did the DP, we went to Narcoossee's. We did over-order in order to get value from the DP (surf & turf, I believe), so too much food by our own design. But I do recall both the setting and food to be great.
Cheers.

We loved the anniversary prefix at California Grill…went twice. The quality of the food was excellent. Service was great, as always. Yes, it was a ton of food. But by boxing up the leftovers, we had late night snacks for three days (West Coasters and refuse to get up early, so we eat a snack later).

We haven't been to Narcoossee's since the renovations, do they still have a bar where you can grab a drink and a small bites (appetizers)?

We haven't been to Narcoossee's since the renovations, do they still have a bar where you can grab a drink and a small bites (appetizers)? Yes, they do! We were just passing through the Orlando area with a one night stay at Disney and stopped in to have a drink since they had just reopened. We ended up staying for dinner and it was wonderful! The bartender was really interesting and fun to talk to. He encouraged us to stay and try some of the new menu items (which we did). At the time they had a bar menu of small bites, which was mostly appetizers from the dinner menu, and bar guests were also able to order from the restaurant menu as well. We split an odd salad (from the dinner menu) that contained blueberries - it was unique with many different lettuces, blueberries, feta and was very tasty. I had the sweet potato gnocchi appetizer for my dinner. The gnocchi was light and fluffy with mushrooms and a very light tomato sauce. It was really different and also very good. DH was thinking he would order one of the seafood dishes (from the dinner menu) when all 3 of the bartenders mentioned having just tried the pork chop and how amazing it was. I rarely ever make pork and DH is still talking about the pork chop. We will definitely go back, especially since we can walk in, eat at the bar, and even split menu items! The bar only had like 6 seats so I am not sure how long of a wait there might be at times. We'll see next time we try to go there. We did notice that many of the people waiting for restaurant seatings would buy a drink and take it outside until they were called, rather than staying at the bar.

Was it taken at one of the Via Napoli F&W Italian Food, Wine vs. Beer events? Oh, how we loved those events and miss them dearly. Laura

I agree, there is usually too much food. We rarely pick something like that.

We snagged a last minute adr for Narcoossee's last night. Yes, you can still sit at the bar. Let me tell you, dinner last night was superb! We originally had California Grill booked for last night and I am so glad we canceled and went to Narcoossee's.

So glad to hear that you can order from the dinner menu at the bar at Narcoossee's! We love to sit at the bar. The worst part of the change from the Wave to Steakhouse at the Contemporary is no longer being able to do that. We also love Narcoossee's. Will now definitely put this on the list for our December visit.

My favorite appetizer is the Ocean-inspired Charcuterie Board. So good and unique. Laura

We cancelled and opted for sushi at Kimonos which is one of our favorites. Current plan is for Capa tonight.

I always opt for my burger, but definitely worth checking.
