As several MOs have relocated to Orlando/FL in recent years + the usual assortment down for a visit, this seems a good time to check on fellow fans.
Any issues with Hurricane Idalia?
Everyone okay?
Property okay?
FWIW, I happened to be visiting (offsite, at local campground) last year during Ian. Disney reopened before power was restored at the cabin I was renting. Of course I went to Epcot! The ride lines were short that morning, then I spent the afternoon in the DVC lounge. That's not a bad way to ride out the aftermath of a hurricane.

Had to work today but no issues in Sanford as of when I left. No issues here in DeLand as I work.
Looks like central Florida largely escaped this one as far as I know at this point.

We live just north of Orlando and had no issues. We've probably run into each other already. At some point we should make it an intentional meet.

We are just behind the MK and we were good, better than expect actually so the Bio Dome over Disney must have worked....Tally for the storm here was 1.7" of rain with a few short wind gusts.
My thoughts go out to the people up north that took this thing in the teeth.

We're just a few miles south of Animal Kingdom Lodge. All good here so far Though recently the winds have picked up. Guess we're getting some bands.but it's still not enough to mess anything up. Except maybe blow the palm tree shedded stuff around.

It started to rain with thunder & lightning last night just as the Halloween Party was about to begin but I think it stopped and Party was not cancelled. Now I am wondering if today would be a good day to be in the parks . Not going but still wondering ! !More rain on the way.
I just walked outside to check on the weather… It is still really muggy …Staying home inside the AC . It looks overcast but has not cooled anything down in my opinion.

Jacksonville, FL here, we've had an inch or two of rain with tropical force level winds most of the day. Lost power for a bit, but otherwise, all is well.

I just started researching a smaller size generator since I saw a commercial .
Boondockersbible.com has very important information… especially if you live in California .
If you know anybody that needs oxygen for example or a C-Pap machine , you might want to research government standards for future . But just consider how important our cell phones have become and trying to keep that charged for emergency !

There are also companies that make “batteries” like bluetti and jackery that you can charge via plugs and/or solar that can help things continue working with a power outage. Some of these can be stacked for longer up times.

Reporting in from Ocala which is an hour northeast-ish of Orlando. Windy and 4.5 inches high of rain but otherwise okay. No lost power which is great. I cleaned closets to pass the time. Seems to be my storm ritual. Works well.

Our niece was hunkered down at the start of her second year at FSU in Tallahassee. Exchanged some texts and she said it was not anywhere near as bad as forecast. Definitely some rain, and a few hours of power outage. Bullet dodging. But, with climate change, it's only a question of time...
Cheers.

we are at our sons in south Georgia, in our RV. Hit with a ton of rain and had some fierce wind gusts, but fared well. Still some in the area without power. No trees lost on the inhabited part of property, 30 acres or so, but we haven't been out to inspect the rest.
