If Kim was here causing drama.....I missed that. But now I want to see it.....lol. Literally, my last conversation with her was me asking to buy MO. This was almost a year or was it two, before MO shut down for good. She never got back to me and b December of that year I stopped going to MouseOwners. There was no support, Kim had already been quietly killing the website for a long time prior. It was literally me and Kim, with Dirk barely logging in any time. Its hard to run a basically a fan site, when you are no longer a fan yourself. Both Kim and Dirk had sold off DVC and stopped going to Disney. Wendy left because of Politics and life. Robin left because her kids got old and they sold off their DVC. DVCMike.....enough said about him. DelawareMike initially left because the passing of his father, but quit after getting the unintentional wrath of Kim when the whole DVCMike situation went down.
Well you know some of the history. She said she was shutting down. I created this forum and tested it with the help of so many others. Then she changed her mind. I had the forum deleted. Then as you know crickets. I know a number of people reached out many times and were shut out. Finally knowing no one was responding to the hackers spamming (hacked old usernames to post) we all gave it one more big push. We opted to make the move after hearing from one close to her that she was done and time to move on. Like SSE there was a back up of this site, so it was restored. Then we finished everything out and told people to come here since the hackers were bad and we wanted to move to safety. Well, like 3 weeks later I see Kim register. I'm cool with it and kind of hope she'll pop in to say hi so I approve registration. She did. In a nasty way. I was knee deep with a server issue for our PTO site for the musical and having to work magic to redirect and get it up so we can sell tickets so I didn't even see it. It was deleted by another mod here but someone copied the post so I eventually saw it. But it wasn't kind. Like she changed her mind on saying we should move. Being a web person I did remove her ID and temp banned IP but unrestricted that after a couple days. Stating I ripped off a site is nothing I take lightly and being in web work it was enough to consult legal. However knowing this theme, software etc and a lot of phrases were from my work in the late 2000s I was told not to worry and move on. The one thing I did have named same as other sites use similarly, I did rename. I saved what was sent to me as any good person who deals with crap does. I still think it was done out of years of pain and hurt along with the trauma of DVC Mike which caused some projections. Saying I didn't reach out or had others trying was incorrect though. I reached out privately via email after to her telling her my side. Eventually a redirect was put up with a dig into my theme but hey whatever. Drama done. I'm here to be open and honest about it all. So kind of posted this for you and in case others wonder. None of this was done without knowledge and I am sure the reality of shutting down was hard to deal with. We do have it set up here that if someone does want to move on we can extremely easily transfer. I see MagicOwners as a collective ownership, not just a dictatorship that the DISboards seemed to thrive on. |

A similar thing happened at DVCInfo. If memory serves, two of our main moderators got into fights with Mike over technology and eventually left (I don't think Mike "fired" them bc they weren't banned) and another dropped out. Three of us hung in there when Mike sold to Russ, but Russ had to focus on personal issues and the site now just flops along. I've reached out to Russ but I think he has bigger fish to fry. |

This morning I see that the DIS appears to be imploding in a different way.
Corey Martin posted that he is changing the moderation of the DIS to be less draconian (not his words but you get the gist).
However yesterday there must have been some major issue happening…. One of the webmasters apparently posted some very reprehensible stuff that was contrary to the guidelines, and then started deleting posts and modifying others to try and hush it all up. And Corey posted that he would be dealing with it.
I predict another mini purge of moderators over there now. But this is probably a good sign that Corey intends to try and address a lot of the issues stemming from the culture that had developed over there.

But this is probably a good sign that Corey intends to try and address a lot of the issues stemming from the culture that had developed over there. Ok now I have to go back over there to catch up. Thanks for posting. I really feel I am done with that site. I just hang around for the free rental posts I am grandfathered in with. |

After WMKathy being both a jerk and antisemitic in responses, they need to. Her BS was up when I went to bed after midnight. They have screenshots on the tattle site. She was there when I was. She needs to go. She was part of the problem during the 2008 mass banning. Reading through tattle looks like she edited her comments and deleted about 5 minutes after my last look. Will be fun to catch up on this morning. Wonder if they'll ever unban my og username  |

When I went over I just did a search for the first-hand accounts on a couple of the DIS threads. Sometimes I did have to read a few posts around them but it was enough to piece things together, or some of it. After that I used the same tactics even on the DIS threads because so much is peoples reactions and opinions to what is a truly awful situation. |

Pete Werner is a piece of garbage. Watching his response was repulsive. All of those defending the perpetrator on that set are also garbage. They need to shut down the DIS.
On another note, I wrote John Magi about my current cruise booking with DU. I specifically asked was my reservation in jeopardy should DU be involved with litigation stemming from the Pete Werner situation. Asked will we be notified in the future should DU close down. All I got was a canned response not answering any of my questions, that he was managing the financial situation, that DU is solvent, that my reservation is not in jeopardy. I was not happy at all with his canned response. I then called my DU agent and cancelled my Hawaii cruise with DU. I am sure I am not the only one. I know one of the DU agents is now working for DVC resales market and appears on that podcast. Very unusual, maybe finding other income to supplement the loss of her cruise bookings?
Time will tell if Dreams Unlimited travel survives this.
