Am I the only one daft enough to read all of this as: Bummer for my current stock, but think it's about time to buy again? IMO, "Bummer for my current stock and I'll hold onto this from my grandkids".

If it hits $80 a share, I might start buying. When it hits $75 a share, I am buying a bunch. Of course my definition of a bunch is totally different than an investor.

Onward was the last really good movie from Disney. It was unfortunately a product of covid. I think disney was inspired from the full metal alchemist in writing that story.
In terms of disney stock iger needs to go before we see any change. His philosophy of buying the competition was great until there were no more competitors. Iger has ruined every movie he puts his hands on. Marvel and Pixar did well while disney kept their hands off. Star wars was an epic failure. I wish they would can kathleen Kennedy and create a new star wars timeline. Until iger goes, disney stock will continue to fall.

I am disappointed and a little concern that Disney Stock has fallen so much. I love the mouse and only want the best for them. Plus, my stock is only about half of what it was worth.

If the former, I agree, but if the latter, I gotta vehemently disagree because Encanto was a smash hit and I freaking loved it!
But from Pixar? Yeah. That chart says it all, and reflects a lot of my personal feelings about those movies as well, especially Turning Red. That show was a travesty and I'll never pass up an opportunity to pan it!

Encanto Box Office Domestic (37.4%) $96,093,622 International (62.6%) $160,693,120 Worldwide total $256,786,742
It had a production budget of $120-$150 million. The film needed at least $300m to break even at the Box Office. Thus the film was a financial loss for Disney.
