This is not good news. What has Bob Iger done to straighten things out? He, in fact, is responsible for many of the price increases.

For the company as a whole I think this is a good thing, not so sure for the consumer.
Disney isn't doing well on multiple fronts, and Iger I think is the best to try and get through this storm. Another quick change in leadership could really spell disaster.
We'll see though...

Ugh! Why??? I have said before I am not an Iger fan. They need a fresh face. I wish Staggs had taken over back in 2016 instead of getting pushed out. Let's see under Iger we have had price increases faster than inflation rate, pay for fp, dining plan changes, food rashoning ect

Of course, as CEO, his duty is to the company.
After chapek and his gaffes, I'm happy to see this.
Cheers,

Also agree. Better for company bottom line than consumer.

Do you think this extension will give Disney the time needed to prepare Mr. Josh D’Amaro for the position ? Comments always seem to imply he is not quite ready … I expect Disney needs to proceed cautiously but can’t continue to prolong much further than 2 years.

Not surprised by this anyway. Hopefully they weather their storms but find someone good for consumers and profits alike.

Yep, definitely not a surprise. Perhaps not ideal, but I do think he's the best Disney can hope for at this point. As always, we shall see...

Was it here that I saw this:
Wonder if this is why the hotels are 25% to 35% discounted and DVC's are offering incentives?

Was it here that I saw this: Wonder if this is why the hotels are 25% to 35% discounted and DVC's are offering incentives? Yup, people have been priced out. Is reflected in attendance numbers and discounts. When you see ticket discounts, you know it’s bad. And we have to weather two more years of Iger cuts. It’s going to get ugly.

I don’t think they have his successor, or even a few options, lined up yet. Add the financial issues, they need his stability (whether or not we agree with his decisions).

We can look at it from the "I don't like paying more and this guy is a meanie that has to go" stance, or from something realistic given Disney's current state. I tend to favor realism, whether the decision may be to my advantage or not.
If the bottom line is not what it should be, there are two options: raise prices, cut costs. Guess what: Iger seems to know that, too.
Cheers.
