Does anyone use the TripIt app? I tried it a long time ago, and did not like it that much. However, I looked at the current version and it seems like something that would keep all of my travel plans in one spot in an easy to read format. I would like to hear any feedback from those that might use it.
I used it some on a recent trip, but I don't think I made the most of it by not entering everything I could have. I did like using what I did get entered though.

I also used it a while back and then stopped. Now I have a set of spreadsheets to track various travel and status aspects, so no longer use any apps for that. At the time, Tripit seemed OK.
Cheers.

I like that I can view everything on my phone from anywhere. For a spreadsheet, I would need my laptop.

I continue to use the automated features from TripIt, but am less likely to “make everything pretty” like I used to. The automated feature is great for placing things like hotel reservations on my calendar, which can be a handy reminder if I book, say, a conference room rate for some future date. When I’m renting points, those reservations show up as well, which is sorta nice, but also a little confusing.

Wow...We used the app a long time ago. I didn't know it was still around. I stopped using it years ago, but I don't recall why.

I tried it once ages ago. But it was not getting my delayed flight info timely. I could not trust it. Not sure is they improved that. Because of this I never went back.

I keep my stuff in the cloud and can access on teh phone app, then open with Excel app. I can view what I need for that trip.
Cheers.

One of my favorite apps. Half the time it knows my bag claim quicker than the airline posts it. I pay the premium and have more than made up for the price fair drop alerts.

Started using it back in 2008 and never stopped. 360 trips and 1.2 million miles later and I love that I have all of my detailed travel stats. If you are a long term user of TripIt, there is another app called “App in the Air” that can connect to your TripIt account and show you your travel data several different ways including a augmented reality projection of earth and all your routes.

I use dropbox and it has worked well for me. I have a "vacations" top-level folder, then calendar years beneath that. Then within each year, I have a folder for each of my trips ordered chronologically, like "0625 - Disney" (meaning a Disney trip starting on June 25 -- I'm an ISO8601 advocate and this has helped me tremendously over the years). All my hotel/flight/car rental/event reservation confirmations or tickets I just print to PDF and save in the respective folder. I can access them from anywhere, including my phone.

I do. For our recent France trip I put every reservation in the app so I would have access to it if I needed it. That was flights, rental car, hotels, and booked tours whether independent or from viator. I use it mostly for work so I can consolidate flight, hotel and rental car for same trip vs separate apps.

So, with all the positive comments, I decided to download and try this again. After doing "Forgot my Password" I got in and saw that I had last used this for a trip in 2015. Our next trip is reasonably simple, but in many pieces: We're driving to Napa for 3 nights, same hotel with 3 different reservations as I used different instruments for each. Concert with Train the first night, dinner at the CIA in Napa the second, concert with Neil Young the third. When all put together, it did a nice job. It actually joined two of the hotel reservations into the same trip, although not the third, and it integrated the two concerts and the dinner nicely. I think I will have to try this a little more. I still use my spreadsheets for long-term tracking, but on-the-go tracking is pretty nice here.
And I now see that it allows merging of trips if it doesn't do it quite right the first time. Really nice!
In general, I still check in for airlines in the airline app, hotels in the hotel app, tickets on the ticketing site, but this is a good organizer.
Thanks for this thread. Cheers.
