Surprisingly.....We have never been to this restaurant. or have we. And now that it has characters, we won't be going. The food court downstairs is quite nice, though. We were just there in May for a very nice poke salad.
Cheers.

We have always enjoyed the food court below, for our Epcot Breakfast needs.

Out of curiosity, you won't be going due to the presence of characters? Or due to the fact that the price will be ridiculous because of the characters?

Out of curiosity, you won't be going due to the presence of characters? Or due to the fact that the price will be ridiculous because of the characters? I can't blame them; we used to go to Tusker House all the time and it was a reasonable price and always 50-75% capacity. Then they added characters and upped the charge by about $20 a person and suddenly the place is packed all the time. So good news for Disney. But now we don't go, ever. I might pay the extra, but I find the character thing totally awkward. We don't have kids otherwise maybe I could let the characters interact with the kids. But they don't talk, you have to pretend to have a one-sided conversation with them, I don't know if I'm getting vibes of relatives who have gotten Alzheimer's or serious dementia or what, but I just don't like it. I did always want to eat at Garden Grill, or as I like to call it, "The Good Turn Restaurant" hee hee. Actually we did eat there once, I really enjoyed the view and the sounds.

Out of curiosity, you won't be going due to the presence of characters? Or due to the fact that the price will be ridiculous because of the characters? Mostly the price. But I have zero interest in someone in a costume coming to my table (and I don't know if they only visit when there are kids), but avoiding this annoyance is a factor as well. Plus, there is nothing I've seen there that stands out enough to warrant a visit any way. But, yeah, the character upcharge is the main part.
Cheers.

The pricing is ridiculous, I agree. Rarely, if ever, makes it worth it for me.
However, I'm of a different mind when seeing the characters. Even at 44 years, I still "buy in" to them. Yes, once in a while the fact that it's someone inside a costume pops into my head, but for the most part, it's really Mickey, Goofy, or Donald standing there right in front of me and I get a little excited to see them. It lets the kid in me come out of his shell, just a little. I guess it's why I'm a Disney fan at heart.

That's not when I want to see them.
