It looks like maybe Mouseowners might have been taken down. I’ve been trying to log on since I got up at around 8am GMT, 3am ET. I did get in very briefly but it went down and since then the server hasn’t been responding. Usually when that happens I wait maybe an hour and the site comes back up. It could be something or nothing. I hope the site might be archived not deleted but we’ll have to see. It looks like maybe Mouseowners might have been taken down. I checked into things and main host is up. Domain name registry is valid for a few more months. Now being recorded as mostly down for almost 20 hours now. It blipped off and on earlier but this one seems rather catastrophic. I'm not seeing major outages being recorded. We traced the route and made it to the host but then it timed out. I do not have any access to any info outside of our usual public displayed stuff anyone can search. So what I am looking at is googled info that many in IT know to do to check issues. Heck used it earlier this week when our school site went down. Helped us find who the host was - stupid school PTO stuff means no one has access to everything. I can say for here the domain name is good for 10 years and I am able to only go out 5 more years at a time on paid stuff on my end. So 6 years for my side. We intentionally made it so not one of us owns things. We want us all to have a space as long as people want to use it. Yep definitely seems to be the end. |

We were down for marathon weekend, and my friends and I looked like foil wrapped potatoes by morning 3 & 4 of the races. I’m pretty sure I burned at least 500 calories waiting at the start and shivering in the 48 degree weather. By Sunday, I was way over it… I’m not surprised, it was cold. I don’t know whether it’s related but the blogger Bioreconstuct ended up in hospital after the marathon. A friend of mine was also very ill, and one runner died on the Monday following. Whether the cold had any part to play is hard to say. I am very sorry to hear this. Sunday started cold but warmed up by about the half point for me. I originally dumped my jacket and gloves with our pit crew at the TTC, but I had them toss the gloves back to me at the Poly as my hands were numb again. The temps dropped just before the sun came up, and it really messed with my run. This was my first marathon and Dopey (will be my only Dopey), and my friend and I walked the last 12 of the marathon. By that point the sun was up, and it started to get toasty. All that to say, the marathon is hard on the body…add to it the temp fluctuations, and it’s very not fun. I hope your friend is doing better. Unfortunately it is not the first death I’ve heard of/witnessed at a Disney race. My prayers for that family. |

Well...it says quick reply, so I'm giving it a shot. Found y'all with the help of a global administrator (which sounds pretty fancy). I decided to just go with a version of my name this time, rather than continuing the "granddaddy" moniker.
Oh. And I see I'm demoted back to "waiting for ROFR."

What was your post count on Mouseowners? I really don't know. I know I had been "Grand Villa" for several years. But I'm not bothered by waiting for ROFR. That was actually the name of the thread when I first joined the DVC site where many of us became "friends," while we were buying resale contracts. I was part of the group that migrated to MouseOwners when some of the strictures of the original group became annoying. |
