Well, I guess that the appearance that Disney were remaining quiet and just accepting this was just that...appearance. More twists and turns that GotG Cheers.

Saw this earlier but could not post it. Don’t mess with the Mouse.
I honestly can’t imagine that Disney would have attempted this if it wasn’t going to stick.

I got dizzy trying to read all of the whereas and wherefors, but I’m pretty sure that a “bird” just flew from the Disney camp…

When I was a boy, my Mother used to say "Let's not make a Federal case out of this...." when I was resistant about something. Mickey's minions look to me to be heading in the opposite direction, and may be eyeing Article !, Section 10, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution: " No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility." [Emphasis added.] There is an interesting, "two-handed scientist's" introduction (i.e., "on the one hand..., but on the other hand....") to the Contract Clause at constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artI-S10-C1-6-1/ALDE_00013037/ .

I excerpted this quote from the governor's office: "We are pleased the new Governor-appointed board retained multiple financial and legal firms to conduct audits and investigate Disney’s past behavior." Past behavior? They could have said: "We are happy to announce that huge amounts of tax-payer dollars are being spent to find some dirt on somebody that dissed us because we did some petty shit to them."
It's like I'm in junior-high.

It looks like Disney is playing chess and Desantis is playing Candyland.

I have been having a ball reading the Reddit comments this morning on this. DeSantis got played massively and publicly. 😂

The agreement was all done in the open and above board, so I find it difficult to believe the new "Sherriff in Town" is going to be able to change it. Of course, he will try and spend a lot of taxpayer's money in trying.

It's like I'm in junior-high. I would be pleased if politics advanced to junior high. Maybe in my lifetime. Probably not.
I see this as a potential double win for Disney-goers:The attempted coup may well fail, and the poor handling of the precursors to all of this was certainly a key factor in the exit of Chapek.
Cheers.

Getting out the popcorn. Love that Disney just made a jackass out of that goon. Should be fun to watch.

It looks like Disney is playing chess and Desantis is playing Candyland. Love this analogy! Usually see chess vs checkers but this is great!

Interesting how people can see, hear, read the same info and come to drastically different conclusions.
What is going to be at play here is could a Corporate Controlled government entity commit a succeeding governemnt entity board to a 30 year path? I believe you will find the state will argue that the contracts are invalid because there was not an arms length position of the previous RCID Board and they were not independent. Likely the FL Courts, mostly controlled by conservatives, will agree. Question is will SCOTUS.
