Well, when I could not fall asleep last night, I started thinking about the trips that I have coming up and I got to wondering if there was a cruise that left out of Port Canaveral around the time of my May trip that I could tack on to the end of my land portion.
So, yes, this morning I found a 3 night on the Wish that leaves the day I am supposed to come home and then I found a 7 night on the Fantasy that leaves a day later for not much more money. 7 night versus 3 night for a few hundred dollars more—to me it was a no brainer. So, now I am booked in an Oceanview (no verandah) on the Fantasy for 7 nights. II am not sure how that happened so quickly.
This will be my first time sailing solo, and I am hoping I do not regret it. II think I am more concerned about dining in the MDR more than anything as I am not sure if they will seat me at a table by myself or not.

Woo hoo! We have been doing that our last couple of DCL cruises, staying at WDW first ( or last) then cruise from Port Canaveral. Request a table for one, we always get a table for 2. What is the itinerary? Yes 7 days always better than 3! Congrats.

Sea Day Cozumel GeorgeTown, Jamaica
Falmouth, Jamaica Sea Day Castaway Cay
The funny thing is, I booked and paid for it and then realized I had not even checked the itinerary to see where it was going. LOL I just knew that with 7 days it was not going to be Nassau. But I have never been to any of these ports before, except Castaway Cay, so this worked out fine.
It is one of the "Silver Sailings", and I am not totally sure what all that means, but I don't think it is any big to do.

Sounds excellent. Enjoy!
Next time I cruise without any friends aboard I’m definitely requesting a table for one. Only once was I on a cruise where I had to dine with strangers but that was more than enough. Especially when one group was consistently late. By mid-cruise servers asked if I wanted to wait for them and I replied, “Hell no!”…

I've only cruised twice, but it's always been with a big group 6-8 of family so we've never had to sit with anyone else. As an introvert, I definitely wouldn't like sitting with strangers.

This sounds wonderful! The Fantasy is our favorite ship too, we would pick it over the Wish every time.

Well, I am not sure if I would prefer to sit with some strangers or if I would feel strange sitting at a table by myself. I do it all the time here at home, but I think in the MDR on a cruise, it might feel a bit different.

DW wanted to do a pre cruise for our EBTA. I just cannot miss more work or I would be all over it.

You get more attention/conversation than you ordinarily would with all the various servers. And plenty of people watching and being thankful you don't have to deal with certain children/parents... Worst case you can always distract yourself with your phone.

I've traveled solo many times, and find that WDW and Disney cruises are my preferred options as a solo traveler. There are so many activities on the ships that I can be as busy as I want to be.
