I also like some fusion stuff like if you remember what Mo'Rockin was like. The current group at Morocco is Atlas Fusion, which is a similar style. Admitted I only pay so much attention to the music since my belly dancer is back! Hopefully she remains...

The problem with live concerts now is THEY COST AN ARM AND A LEG! I wanted to see Lynard Skynard and ZZ Top ( they are playing together) at the Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA this coming September. Ah, at $400/ticket, no thank you!!! I wanted to see Lynard Skynard and ZZ Top ( they are playing together) at the Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA this coming September. Ah, at $400/ticket, no thank you!!! DW just got tix for Pink in September. $200 each. I miss the small venue $10-$15 show days. Or getting to a venue to then out that the show is sold out, then giving the bouncer $20 cash to get in.
Those tend to be the really good tickets or Resale tickets. Even Springsteen, whose tickets are very high, can be had for less than that. Sure, not front section, but the ones I got were #139.50 + fees. Like $175 total.
Plus, smaller lesser-known acts do play at smaller venues, and there are many of them in all genres. Seeing the very popular dinosaur rockers in big venues often comes with a price tag for really good seats. And even some not-quite-dinosaur are big-venue expensive.
Cheers.
Cheers.

I definitely listen to a variety. I like a lot of classic rock, including Aerosmith, AC/DC, Queen, Elton John, etc. I've always liked older country music, but have been listening to a lot of the new stuff lately. Some of my faves are Reba, Garth, Kenny Chesney, The Chicks, and newer singers like Morgan Wallen, FGL, Niko Moon. I'm also a huge Taylor Swift fan - all of it, her new music & old. When my mom worked at Ohio State I used to go to a lot of concerts. She's been retired 10+ years now and have only been to a handful since then.

Styx was available for the fair here for $50 a ticket plus fees. Not too bad but I wasn't in the mood to fight for tickets and it's a week my kid will be shuttled around for camp so unsure if I can even easily go or not. I was shocked at that price. Wow that is a steal! Styx is awesome. You should try to go!

Yes maybe there were, or should be. I could stomach $150 a ticket, but I also want to SEE the band and not be subjected to the Jumbotron. My last in person concert was FREE at the student Union building at UMD @ College Park. George Thorogood and Delaware Destroyers were the feature band! I cant even describe to you the awesomeness of that concert even being among the sea of people crammed into this small venue.

Marching band camp at home with the kid who is 15 makes it all harder.

Yeah I don't do concerts. - Ridiculously expensive
- Crowd of rowdy, often rude people
- Usually you can only barely see the performer or are just watching them on a big screen anyway
- Live performance is almost always lower in quality than the studio recording
- Audio is usually too loud and distorted
I'd rather just listen to a very high fidelity version using my nice headphones, or if I want to watch them perform, I'll pull up a youtube video where I get great audio, a great view, a great seat on my couch, and it's free.

Interesting thread. Not that I listen to much music these days but if you get in my car you would hear Hall and Oates, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind and Fire most often. If I have to listen to the radio it would be a country station. I’m all over the place.

You're seeing very different shows from the ones I'm seeing, it seems. While a few have lived down to these experiences, it is a small fraction.
Cheers.

I'll give you a list of shows I've made the effort to see at Epcot, all during F&G:
Blood, Sweat, and Tears Herman's Hermits Orchestra (ELO) Kool & the Gang
At other venues:
Steppenwolf The Guess Who Fleetwood Mac Limp Bizkit Train (in small bars as well as in large festival venues, including standing on wing of the stage once) Cowboy Mouth Allman Brothers Willie Nelson Alan Jackson Beach Boys Doctor John Rush Blue Oyster Cult Kansas Heart Edgar Winter Group Chicago Peter Frampton Styx Moody Blues
I wish I could have seen Led Zeppelin, as I love their music, but never got the chance.
Also, I swear I have memories of seeing Salt N Peppa in a bar in Birmingham, AL. No way to prove it, though...
