Last time I looked was like 2018 or 2019 and I believe disney was financing direct deals at 7.99% with interest rates much higher now are those into double digits or even higher into the teens with disney direct purchased?
I have to think that will slow sales overall as many people finance. I just did a quick check of Monera financial and those rates look to be 16/17% which really makes it difficult for many to buy
Do we have a big price drop coming?

Price drop? As in resales? It’s already happening.
I shudder at the thought of what the interests rates might be right now. The Fed is surely raising rates again, and maybe two more times before year end.
I do think there is a little lower interest rate when you finance directly through Disney. But I have no idea what those direct rates would be.

I don’t believe it’s ever been 7.99%. We had financed our direct just for a short period of time until we got our payoff in order. It was 10.75% back in 2009.

DH insisted on financing most of our contracts because he doesn't like spending his savings. The lowest financing we had through the vacation club was 8.9%. I have read about people who have financed thru the vacation club and then refinanced thru a different source - low interest CC or personal loans or home equity loans. We didn't bother doing that - I just paid them off early. The last financing I saw was 11% - I think it is right on the vacation club site (the part that can be accessed by non-members).

We also financed our last two direct for same reason as your DH, I think it was 7 or 8%. Not sure what it is now. 17% at Monera? Wow! This will certainly affect resale. Although i think resale is already dropping.

One year ago, DW and I closed on a direct DVC add-on, at 8.99% interest with a 20% down-payment. Obviously, time has passed and YMMV!

How many years are the payments typically spread over for direct-DVC financing? Are the years negotiable or fixed? Is there an early payoff penalty?

And there used to be no credit check.
