Help! I need an instacart tutorial for WDW groceries. We've always used garden grocer, but the prices are getting high. I'm usually very clever at shopping, but I must admit, I know nothing about instacart. We've used Instacart a few times. It's pretty self-explanatory. Choose the store you want them to shop at, fill your cart, choose delivery time. I'm looking at the app now. I'm using BWV's address (google your resort name and "address"). Store options are Publix, Sprouts, Target, Aldi, Costco, BJ's, Sam's, etc. I was wondering how to choose local stores, and now I know. Thanks!

At OKW, if I got a 2-bd, assuming it was a lock-off, does the front door to the studio that forms the second bedroom operate normally? What I mean is, wife and I are going and staying in a 1-bd. We are taking my mom and putting her in a studio. I just this morning realized that 2-bd is cheaper than 1-bd + studio - for the same thing. Related question: at OKW are the 2-bd units pretty much all lock-offs?

There are 274 dedicated 2-bedrooms and 230 lock-off 2-bedroom at OKW.

If you stick with the separate 1-bedroom and studio, (if you haven't already) make sure to have MS put a travel with on both reservations. The travel with will alert the room assigner to try an locate the rooms as near to each other as possible.

Since you'll have separate bedrooms to retreat to for peace and quiet either way, I think the decision you're trying to make is whether you want mom to be able to chill and relax in your living room and kitchen (and use your washer/dryer) or you'd would rather she have to "come and knock on your door" to do so. Though, if you book a 2BR lock-off, she'll have her own kitchenette to enjoy morning coffee/tea/breakfast and you can still regulate access to your quarters but that might be a bit more awkward to explain ("Hmm, mom, I don't know how the adjoining door on our side got shut and locked").

Let's just say, you are not completely wrong.
There will also be, in another studio, my sister and her husband and two kids. I don't need it devolving into a free-for-all with kids jumping all over the couches and getting cheese sticks out of the fridge all night long. So a little part of me says "everyone in their own rooms, nobody has to know they (potentially) connect, nothing."
Interestingly enough, I was singing the "Come and Knock on our Door" Three's Company song just an hour ago. I happened to see in the credits that it was written by Ray Charles...which piqued my interest. Turns out, it was not THAT Ray Charles.

We'll be at Universal for a few days next week and I really want to stop by the OKW general store to check out current merchandise since we don't have a WDW trip on the horizon until next year. Anyone know a (relatively) foolproof way to do this? Call the store in advance (and how), just pull up to the guard gate and ask to enter to shop for a bit (showing DVC membership proof), contact member services in advance, etc?
Last time we were in the Orlando area but not for a WDW stay, we just hopped the boat from Disney Springs but we were also spending the full day exploring and I'm not sure we'll want to take the time required to catch the boat both directions. While in DS, we spoke to a guide and they called ahead for us to tour the Poly DVC rooms so we had no problems getting in there via car so I'm wondering if that's another option?
I'm not sure how hard it is to get through the OKW gate if you're not staying there so maybe it won't be an issue?

Question about using Disney gift cards.
Can you use Disney gift cards to pay for a table serve dinner? And can you use it for the tip, too?

Following on from PirateLinda ‘s question, here’s another. I recently found out that the physical gift cards now have a QR code you can scan and use to pay for mobile orders. If you buy an E-gift card can you transfer the balance onto a physical card to use for mobile ordering?

I loaded them into my Disney Gift Card account and then transferred them to a physical card. It worked fine. I have not seen the gift cards with the QR code yet. Sam's has the pretty ones for the 100 years. I will have to check those out.

If unsure about using a GC for tipping, you can always use your MB to put the bill plus tip on your room charge, then reconcile your room charge using the GC.
