I was looking at studio availability at BWV for Jan 2024 and the standard studios are grayed out completely. I don’t think it’s a case of people walking them since 11 months plus 7 have no availability. Usually people aren’t walking entire weeks. Garden and Boardwalk views appear to be standard walking (probably for Marathon Weekend). Only thing I can think of is that standard studios have been taken out of inventory for a refurbishment. Anyone know?

Thanks for the info! I did see something about the Boardwalk and Garden views in the Fall, but it was an article that was speculating that a refurbishment was coming. If they usually do refurbishments floor by floor, I'd expect to see at least some availability towards the end of the 7 days, even with walkers. I wish they would send emails to property owners, rather than announcements on the website, about issues/updates regarding specific properties. It would just be nice to know for sure about these things. |

There is a refurbishment, that is confirmed. The lobby is being done first, then the Inn rooms and then the villas.
BCV also had some inventory withdrawn for the Fall, one suggestion being that it could be to move people to (from BWV) if necessary. BCV is underway now and should be completed by late Spring, unless it hits some issues, which is the other suggestion for that Fall inventory “anomaly”.

Just looked and it looks normal to me, the standard studios at BWV always go quick, especially at low point times and marathon weekend.

A hard stop like that seems odd to me. I saw the same thing with BW view rooms earlier in the year and it was a refurb.

Anyone know? I noticed that too. They were grayed out several days ago too so it does not look like walking so I'm guessing they will be taken out of inventory which screws up my plans. Were you able to get Dec 31st? I got all the days leading up to it but no Dec 31. I assume they wouldn't take it out of inventory that day and it's just full. I really wish BWV had dedicated 2brs because I hate competing for rooms with the studio seekers. |

Were you able to book a Garden view for that night? We actually won’t be traveling that week. I just started looking at availability but I’m probably not looking to travel until spring break time. We’ll have just been there around Thanksgiving 2023 but I’d love to travel with some friends who love Disney and considering our spring break 2024, so the kids don’t miss too much school. |

Yeah, I’m thinking it will actually be nice (aside from being without a room much if the day) as my parents (first and likely last Disney trip) likely won’t want to deal with crowds so the can ring in the new year from the balcony. Any suggestion on room requests? |

Any suggestion on room requests? Definitely recommend the 5th floor. This puts one over by the Crest O' The Wave section. Numbers 5001-5013ish.
There are two we don't like. These are in the red part of the building where there are solid walls for balcony rather than railings so harder to see when sitting. I always forget the numbers, and I had a link to a great post showing a map of all the room numbers looking at them from the Boardwalk so it was easy to tell. Alas, it was on MO so the images are not accessible.
I've looked a bit for other sites that might have this, but haven't found any so far.

Boardwalk view room location is a trade off. We like the Crest O' the Wave section. Those rooms have nice view, and you can see the fireworks in Epcot at night; it is a longer walk to the lobby and Epcot. The rooms at the end closer to the lobby, above the Screen Door are very centrally located, but some of the views can be blocked. I don't think you can see much of Epcot, but you can see the MK fireworks in the distance over the YC/BC.
For those -0001 to -0009 rooms, we request "close to Jellyrolls/high floor." The best we've had was 3003/3005 when we had a 2 b/r.
The -0001 rooms are dedicated 1 b/r's. -0003 1 b/r lockoff; -0005 studio; -0007 studio; -0009 1 b/r lockoff.
My #1 BWV tip is to know where the stairs let you out and use them to save time.
