Dress is "casual cocktail". If anybody has any idea what that means please let me know!! In my crowd that means "jeans and sweatshirt" or maybe it means "shorts and t-shirt" or maybe it means "greasy clothes from working on a car but if they are too greasy you might want to change them" Some could say I have friends in low places But I bet it's some variation on "office casual" like nice jeans and a button shirt or something. If I had to guess

We are headed to Dallas on Friday for a reception for Jack's nephew's daughter who is getting married. (saying "grand niece" makes us sound old). Anyway she is getting married on Grand Abaco Island with just a small group of family and friends. So there is a reception at our nephew's club. Dress is "casual cocktail". If anybody has any idea what that means please let me know!! Never heard of casual cocktail before.....I had to look that one up .

Well, I thought I posted a reply - if anyone finds it out there, send it home. Jerry - that sounds exhausting, but also really fun!! The Mai Tai experiment turned out well. I got a bottle of rum as a gift (Zacapa) and not being a rum drinker had to research. Turns out you can also make a version of an Old Fashioned with this rum using chocolate bitters. Its really good - all in the name of research of course. We are headed to Dallas on Friday for a reception for Jack's nephew's daughter who is getting married. I found bitters on Amazon that are perfect for rum--El Guapo Polynesian bitters. I'll have to try chocolate. I can see that working with an aged rum.

Casual Cocktail My best guess would be business casual with a flash of class. I'm quite certain you can pull that off effortlessly.

I was browsing around on Amazon looking at various mouse and trackball options and I find that people sell "mouse jigglers" so I'm like "what's that?" I go read reviews and it's basically a thing you put under your mouse at work that makes it appear as though your mouse is moving, and thus you are working, when you are really taking a nap or whatever.
My opinion of humanity notches down yet another step.

Well, how did it turn out? Inquiring minds want to know. Meanwhile, I have been suffering. Well...I suffered through the Alabama/South Carolina basketball game (away, but televised) Wednesday night. South Carolina has only won ten games this year, but they were on fire. They were dropping "threes" like they haven't down all year, and we only had a couple of players who seemed to remember how important it is to play well when you're leading the conference and in the top five, nationally. Finally won by two with a layup at the end of overtime...and then it took me an hour and a half to calm down enough to go to bed. Fandom is hard. Last night we attended the gymnastics meet with LSU. We saw some great routines from both teams and witnessed a couple of absolutely inexplicable scoring results. In the end, it was the closest meet we've ever attended. LSU edged us out, 197.975 to 197.925. Today, we will be back at Coleman just after lunch for the men's basketball game with Arkansas. Church tomorrow morning, where I shall feel repentant for getting so worked up by sports - and shortly afterward, we will be attending a 1:00 pm softball game (less than a block away from our home). Umm. Worked up yet again. No nap today. No nap tomorrow. Oh, how we suffer. Roll Tide! Absolutely Love college softball!

My opinion of humanity notches down yet another step. Some employers track every move. Keystrokes per minute, bathroom break time. Over-intrusive stuff like that. I'm good with a device that helps employees level the playing field.

Is anyone else having problems going in and modifying reservations. Every time I try to cancel a waitlist or a reservation, I get the message, Nothing to see here, try again later. This has been happening a couple of days now.

I’m old school, I jiggle my own damn mouse…
Patty, I’d say casual cocktail is equivalent to a happy hour. So like going to a departmental lunch or dinner maybe.
I do like old fashioneds. Perhaps will try with rum sometime.

This has been happening a couple of days now. I found out the problem. I have a new Riviera contract that I thought was set up for the dues to be Auto Pay like all my other contracts, but it appears that did not happen and now I have two months that are past due and some late fees. I can't get this resolved until tomorrow when Member Accounting opens back up. So, until this is resolved I cannot access my membership that has the majority of my points in it. Can't book, can't cancel a reservation or cancel a waitlist. My whole membership is frozen, not just the one contract.
It would have been nice if they had sent a notice of some kind when January wasn't paid. I guess their only notice is too freeze your membership.

Thanks for all the input. I decided on elevated business dress - hopefully no matter what happens overall I am squarely in the middle!
On the rum old fashioned my conclusions are: don't be heavy handed on the simple syrup or the chocolate bitters. The chocolate bitters are powerful. the recipe also calls for a twist of grapefruit - we haven't had one so can't report on that. Sounds good though.

I'm not sold on a grapefruit and chocolate bitters combo.
