I clearly understand how easy it is to lose your temper or be frustrated, but there is no excuse for putting your hands on a Cast member or anyone else at Walt Disney World.

I think that charges should have been pressed, AND he should be banned from BC for one year. He could be allowed to bank his points or rent them to someone else, but not set foot back on property for a year. And only after completing anger management counseling, possibly with some community service hours. I’m not as nice as the rest of you. People need to learn that their actions have consequences.

Wow, this is terrible. Touch me, and your a$$ is going to jail. I agree, I bet management “suggests” the CMs not press charges.

I’m less nice. Bah him for life. Hell, ban him from life, I see no need for him to be a member of the public. Again in certain cases I’m very much in favor of cruel and unusual punishment…

This guy was definitely an ass no two ways about it and this goes to show you some of the $hit CMs have to put up with day in and day out. I did go back and reread the article which seems to be strictly written based on the action report from Orlando Sheriff. There doesn't seem to be any comments from the CM or Disney so we really do not know what actions Disney may have taken. I would guess there is a good chance that this guest won't be visiting any of the parks in at least the near future. Having a CM in the family I know Disney takes aggressive behavior by guest (both physically and verbal) seriously I doubt they would have actively discouraged the CM from pressing charges. It is more likely that the CM didn't feel that the complications of pressing charges (making statements possible involvement in court cases and interaction with attorneys) would be worth it.

You're nicer than me. I think he should be banned but no special treatments for points. Longer than a year too. Honestly I'm so tired of people acting like jerks all the time.

That’s what we do. A lifetime ban is fine if that’s what Disney wants to do. But I still think he should have to attend anger management counseling and do community service. Without some sort of intervention, he will simply do this to others. I’ll leave y’all to punish while I try to fix and prevent.

I would like people to be fixed for sure as I feel for anyone who has to deal with that kind of a person.

This man may have always been an abusive bully, but this may be completely out of character for him. Alcohol? Infection? Early onset dementia? Could be that he needs an intervention and help. Could be that he’s just not a nice human. I’m not personally involved, so I can be objective and look for causes. Having said all that, if he had put his hands on one of my children, even though they are both adults, I would probably have lost my compassion, composure, and likely my nursing license…

Or could be longer lived issues. I do really get disappointed when people are fearful to press charges. Sometimes that's the only way to make a change.

It is more likely that the CM didn't feel that the complications of pressing charges (making statements possible involvement in court cases and interaction with attorneys) would be worth it. I have been in this situation...we all see on tv "do you want to press charges?" and we think, "do you want them to go to jail?" When really what it means is "do you want to get into a long legal proceeding where you both end up in court for who-knows-how-long and who-knows-how-much-money in a he-said, she-said type of battle where the 'bad-guy' might get no punishment anyway?"
