Apparently you need 150 points for this and any "membership extras," which I didn't realize: "The Membership Magic Beyond option is part of Membership Extras which, effective June 3, 2021, requires having an ownership interest with 150 Vacation Points or more purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc." They will likely grandfather in those currently eligible for membership extras, just as they've done every time they've change the minimum required for membership extras.

Well, yeah-- you need to have Membership Extras. As of June 2021, obtaining Membership Extras required purchasing 150 direct. You can still have Membership Extras due to lesser direct purchases prior to that.

If they didn't take in grandfathered points, they wouldn't bother to put on the date in 2021. I need to reread the terms and conditions again but I would say it's the same as any perk.
Of course the more I slept on this, the more I was like "maybe"? Depends on some things. AP may be a bad use of points but I'll look.

Don't really see a benefit for us except for the one time use points. But even then the Magic Beyond cost just offsets the cost of the points.

I like the match for one time use year points. I will probably purchase it. I usually buy the memory maker in my AP so I will just put it into this instead:)

The June 2021 date is from that time on, the others are grandfathered by whatever date they set - if you have blue card you are grandfathered.

So unless you take a single long trip a year you might end up buying it anyway. That's a real puzzle to me.

We have bought a single AP just so we can get memory maker for $100 instead of is it $600 now for 3 trips? So my initial thought was perfect! I don’t need an AP for awhile. But no. It’s $100 to pay for the privilege of getting it for $100 and only 30 days. I suppose it’s possible it makes sense to go that route if we’re taking only one trip in a calendar year…. Or maybe you just pay that second $100 a second time to get a second 30 days. But it appears it ends as of Dec 31. Our trips usually go the Jan 1 or 2, so that would be super inconvenient. Maybe i’m just not the targeted demographic for this.

There is no indication you can pay to get more allotments. The 30 days is how long it's good for after activation.

We'll likely know exact details on it once purchases happen. My guess is that it will be loaded on MDE and you will have a link or code to activate that you can only see because it's on your account.
