Wishing the best for everyone in the path of Hurricane Helene.
If you are near the projected path, get out......and take shelter!

Definitely. Our niece is at school in Tallahassee. They have cancelled classes, so she is back home with family in relatively safe south Florida.
Cheers.

Any Carolina folks in here? hope you are all ok? the flooding devastation in East TN, and the Carolinas, is just awful. and the west coast of Florida.
We're watching that next area of development.....sure hope it doesn't development into much. Even if it's just a lot of rain, I"m worried about our drive down Sat, and a washout for HHN Sunday night.

Big prayers to all our southern states going through this devastation. Every YouTube video I see just puts such a knot in my stomach. Feel very helpless not knowing what I can do to help. Hoping to hear from our Church very soon to put resources together to get some help out there.

My brother and sister-in-Law live in Asheville. They have their two grandchildren with them now while my niece and her husband went to Europe for their anniversary. They flew back yesterday but can't get home. My brother says there's no power, no water, gas lines are exploding, and all roads to Asheville are closed due to flooding, landslides, and trees down. The airports aren't functioning either.. no power. They're under curfew and are expecting looting.

Scary shit, indeed. Missed us completely aside from some wind. Best wishes to those impacted.

Asheville update - Just texted with my brother. They have no power, no water, no gas source, and no food supply. They may have power in a week but no water for a month. All flights are cancelled. There is now one road open into Asheville but it's being patrolled and for emergency vehicles only. They are planning on coming here to the Cape... when they can get out.

I'm so very, very sorry for your brother and his family. That is just awful to be completely cut off like that, and no utilities. I hope they'll have some open roads for them asap to get out!

Thanks for keeping us updated. Will definitely be keeping them and their fellow neighbors in our prayers. I plan on having a stern conversation with my Son in Virginia about keeping a larger supply of insulin with him at all times. This is a lesson that you never know when an emergency could hit, and he cannot go without that.
