It's not really related to trip planning so posting the info here under General Chit Chat (admins, feel free to move if it should go under News and Rumors). Received this email yesterday informing me that the Disney Movie Insiders rewards program is coming to an end in December with the last chance to earn points being next week, Tuesday, Sep-6. It's really too bad; I've been in the program since its original inception and have redeemed points for a variety of items over the years but had been stockpiling for some of the bigger reward offerings. Guess I know now why nothing spectacular has been available for a while.

Here's hoping they do as they say in the FAQ and add some new, decent rewards for members to spend their points on. Last night, I ordered a book and submitted some entries for the $5000 gift card sweepstakes to burn off some of my plethora of points but would love to scoop up gift cards or movie tickets or something other than "stuff" with what I have left before they vanish into thin air.
Edited to add: The site says to stay tuned for a new Disney+ Perks program "coming soon" so it appears they're now tying any kind of rewards or perks to being a Disney+ subscriber (which we are, for now). It'll be interesting to see what that entails.

Most of the points we've earned the past few years have been from things other than buying movies for the home collection, mostly movie ticket purchases or "bonus points" from the monthly newsletter, my birthday, linking our Disney+ subscription, or the occasional/seasonal puzzles on the site where you earned points.
