From Disney - to clear up questions: I have not gotten this email yet. Thanks for posting. What’s the difference between Oct 1 and Oct 15? Oct 1 is when PVB points go on sale to existing DVC Members. Oct 15 is when members that own PVB can start making points reservations.

I’m too old to buy more points but let me know what fixed week you plan on and the expected price . A fixed week duo studio would be nice for NYE ! I booked a night at the original DVC Poly Studio for 12/24 Hoping for 60day+10 dining window but probably too soon . Although , they will have to control guest traffic in lobby, etc. When the GC opened at DL , I was staying there and security required proof of reservation to get past security if entering from Disney Springs . I know this is not believable but I swear the room they booked me in had a queeen bed and a bunk bed with trundle underneath ! I would love a trundle in the cabins because the upper level bunk bed makes me nervous . I can’t imagine housekeeping changing the linens for that top bunk !!! I would be like here’s a pillow and your quilt : Sweet dreams …

Unless you are no longer going to Disney World, than you are never too old. Who knows, that Poly Tower Duo room might be the room you did not know you needed in your life!

Just tossing this out there. I got the generic email that all DVC members did. Saying deeded interest begins at $23,500. That's not $225/point. Hmm.... In the brochure it says “ Typically priced”. Was VDH that price at opening? VDH was $230 at opening but increased to $239 if my memory is serving me correctly. All bets are off today because I woke up way too early and I have been going non-stop all day LOL The infographic I posted was actually from DVC Facebook page, and not something I received in an email. As other people's have mentioned from your other post, October 1st points go on sale for Polynesian for anyone who is currently a DVC owner. It does not matter where you own, you just have to be an owner. For current Polynesian owners, and of course anyone who just bought before, October 15th is the day we can book. For those who were buying in new, but are not current DVC owners, October 29th is the day they can begin to purchase Polynesian. The brand new to DVC Polynesian owners then can book November 5th. All others will be November 19th but following the 7 and 11 month rule at that point. Based off of what we have seen, prices will start at $225 for current DVC owners on October 1st. We are seeing indication that it will be $235 after that introductory period Is up for new DVC owners. So, they did this with the original polynesian. We did not have incentives back then, but we did have a period of time when we were allowed to buy a little cheaper. I would not be surprised if incentives for current owners even above 100 points would be a lot. I have not seen anything about fixed weeks yet, but if they are I would expect about a 10% increase in cost. At least that's what I recall other resorts had for their fixed weeks.

I can understand the sentiment, as well as yours. We have decided that we're too old to be buying more points, but not too old to go to Disney. We have 275 points across two resorts, and these expire in 18 years. We'll be 82. Then we are pretty sure that we won't want to be going to Disney. But we have all the points we need for those 18 years. So, one can be too old for more points, but not too old to visit the Mouse.
Cheers.

I would be like here’s a pillow and your quilt : Sweet dreams … Just so you're aware, the new tower lobby area will not be staffed with a front desk. At least that is the plan for right now. So like when BLT first opened, there was no front desk and no staff in that lobby area really. We will see much the same. So there will not be a massive influx of people coming into that lobby. They have to things in place to people out anyway during holidays so they know what to do there I think. As a whole though, you will still have Ohana and Kona Cafe as sit-downs that people can go to, so they can't keep everybody out. I think if the tower is not staffed and they require key card entry to places, it could help keep the flow of people out as well. One of the cast members I have known for a long time was talking to me this past June in hopes that they will change their mind at the Polynesian about having a front desk there. This cast member is absolutely freaking amazing and he said he would put his bid in immediately if he were to be there. He used to be at Wilderness Lodge in the DVC Wing regularly. Then during covid he was moved to boardwalk in a couple other places off and on. I really missed seeing him up Wilderness lodge, so it was a great thing to see him a couple times at Boardwalk when we're there at this past summer. So my fingers are crossed that they will eventually put a Lobby in with staff, and that I can see my favorite concierge guy there all the time.

$225 is lower than I expected for points. I could almost see doing a 25 point adder for Poly for us at that price. Not what I want to spend money on right now, but it is tempting. Very tempting.

What is the minimum for add-on? I thought it was 50, but I might purchase 25 more points if its possible. Just to be clear - NOBODY can book any earlier than Oct 15? I am a current Poly owner. So purchasing an add-on still keeps me at the 15th? (EDIT - I saw in the graphic that its the 15th regardless of add-ons for existing Poly owners) And does anyone know what time that usually opens up? 8AM? I am SO excited. I am coming for RunDisney and currently have GF booked and will switch to Poly if I can!!!

I am coming for RunDisney and currently have GF booked and will switch to Poly if I can!!! They have not given that information yet. Some places have a 50-point minimum and some have a 25. However, 25 has been cash only when I have inquired about it. My last direct add-on for Polynesian was just 30 points since I realized I did some math wrong and would be under what I thought I would need but the time. I am debating on adding just 25 more if they'll let me as well. I don't know that I really need it. I'm still pondering that myself. I do have 4 contracts now (she says quietly) at Polynesian so I'm trying to be mindful & being smart and not just greedy. October 15th 8am eastern time will be when Polynesian owners can book. It does not matter if you are a new add-on or a current owner. Disney clarified that in a graphic that all of us who own, no matter when we bought, will have access on October 15th. The next level will be brand new to DVC who bought after October 29th. They will get November 5th. Everyone else will have to wait until November 19th

The studios are the same. That surprised me. And the duos likely will be hard to get.

I am looking forward to what incentives they may be offering with the initial sales. I also have current PVB contracts but never hurts to explore!
