helenabear I am watching the resale market. Starting to see the prices coming down, although I have not checked today. At this point it’s gonna be price over time. Still lots of time left on resale Poly. Also, I am going to hedge that people were waiting for opening prices and incentives before making any changes to their pricing. Now that it’s all out there, I think resale owners will be making some decisions. Those that really want to sell will start dropping their prices. Just my hunch! Sounds like a fixed week is kind of going by the wayside? Prices for sub 100 have not moved as of mid morning when I looked. 150+ did drop a little overnight since pricing was released at midnight (I only saw it at 3am lol) I'll keep watching too. My issue is that I don't know that I'll need need the points. And what might be my best interest is to see how life shakes out after HS graduation and go from there. But I still like watching things. I plan to look at prices again tonight and see where they fall. Then eventually next week too. I need to remember to take off my June filter though. That's still on from earlier this year. I am very happy with the price I paid in May/June (worked out to be about $170 due to a closing cost deal I worked) though still wish I had gotten that one earlier. It is what it is though. Disney wanted those points. Yes with the current pricing and 10% upcharge, not even entertaining a FW. I would be happy with a great priced resale. My current CCV FW gives me the member benefits, and is such a good rental, I don’t foresee us ever giving it up. Manageable MF’s for week 49 even if my kids end up wanting it. So this Poly purchase ( resale) is the way we are going. Still, I’m willing to wait it out for the price drops. Like was previously mentioned, lots of Poly on the resale market.

We financed our DVC purchase, and we're still sta ding.
Of course, it was only 100 points, it was back in 2008 when tickets and flights (and initial costs...$96 pp after incentives) were cheaper, and we've never added on.
Maybe it wasn't the smartest but in the grand scheme of things it was the right choice for us.

Did anyone notice there is no Magical Beginnings with the new Poly Tower? It was mentioned in an article that I read that it likely will be offered, but that it seems people calling have been told no. Not surprised honestly. Magical beginnings is a newer thing and a way to drive sales. Again I don't judge anyone for doing what they do. I think at this point in my life if I can't pay it with cash, it's probably not needed. People do what has to work for them. I know one of my friends has never not financed her DVC and it was always direct. You have to do what works for you! My idea of adding on is definitely on hold. Wow we were not in the major part of the storm, we still had some very high winds and a lot of rain. We noticed last night during a small rain that we had dripping in one of our rooms. I think we missed it earlier in the storm because this was one of the first quiet rains we had since friday. So we'll have to see if someone can come out in the next few days and figure out is it a real roof issue or maybe even a gutter issue. We'll figure it out. But if Insurance can pay for it due to the storm all the better LOL

Read on another site that bookings from 10/15 to 10/30 can only be from purchased poly tower points, not from existing poly. This is not what I originally heard but what people purchasing points for the tower were told yesterday.
Can anyone validate this?

Friend posted that yesterday... currently I'm still safe but added on earlier anyway. Read on another site that bookings from 10/15 to 10/30 can only be from purchased poly tower points, not from existing poly. This is not what I originally heard but what people purchasing points for the tower were told yesterday. Can anyone validate this? Some also initially thought that for a couple hours that it was going to be this way, but Disney posted on their DVC Facebook page that it is for all current and add-on PVB owners. My guide has not said anything other than this. We've posted a couple of times this so sorry for those who've seen it a lot, but repeating it again for those who need. I have heard nothing refuting what was put in writing on PVB specific sites.

Thanks, I have seen that chart.
The reposts yesterday stated something about DVC using developer inventory at the tower to be able to differentiate the points (initially).
I’ll still try on the 15th with existing points. Just don’t want to waste my time.

I’ll still try on the 15th with existing points. Just don’t want to waste my time. I dug into this and the most I actually found was that if you buy with the new tower there may be developer points available that is above what declared inventory will be. It was never meant to say that current owners cannot book on October 15th. They're just maybe a little extra wiggle room to help those who recently did just purchase. I do have some doubts on that personally, but I'm not calling right now to find out real information. The end result is Disney is not walking back on printed material. They legally could not do what was suggested by one as far as I understand. Also as far as I saw, it really was just one person stating it. It could be the guide was trying to be helpful to, but not completely accurate either? I'm really unsure about that part. I did see some discussion on the Forum I really do not care to spend much time on still. There were those who asked their guide directly and were told differently anyway. That all PVB points new or old, can be used. There may be some developer brand new buyer inventory that might be available, but not all guides were forthcoming with that nor did some really want to state if it was accurate or not. So fuzzy there, but we can all book on the 15th. Again I've not seen this discussed anywhere else except through that one spot.

Well not thrilled with 91 more studios... but here are official numbers found on documents. I think I am glad for the 11 month booking window here. Now to decide if I need more points or not. So, this is a combination of the non-tower AND Tower? I’m Trying to gauge the 15th booking day, and what it will be like. If asked before I apologize, will it be online or phone only? Also, what time will the “event” start. lol does this mean the following totals: 1br: 26 2br: 56

The numbers of each depend on how it is booked by others. There are minimum and maximum of the following for the tower only Duo Studio: 39 Tower Studio: 91/137 1 Bedroom: 26/72 2 Bedroom: 16/62 2 Bedroom Penthouse: 4 Reality will probably be somewhere between those numbers. The more 2 bedroom lock offs booked, the less 1 bedrooms and studios there will be - and vice versa. I was told online 8am on October 15th. If using developer inventory you can call at 9am. I do *not* have this confirmed but it is what I was told when I had to call to buy APs

I am getting old.....
I remember when Bay Lake Pricing came out and I was like "wow" that is a lot....its too much. Not look at us....$225 pp for Poly Tower for 100 points.
Between the point inflation and price inflation, its mind boggling to me what the real costs are for the newer DVC rooms.
I had a 1-bedroom booked at Bay Lake for the Festival of the Arts. Our besties decided to go the same time, so we could hang out. We offered to switch to SSR and get a 2-bedroom so we could stay together. It only cost me 1 more point to go from a 1-bedroom to a 2-bedroom by switching resorts. If that 1-bedrrom was at VGF or RR, I would have gotten points back by switching to the SSR 2-bedroom.
I always laugh a little inside when people only compare price per point cost vs price per point use. Those OKW people know what I am talking about!

We have particularly been looking at the point per room while figuring it out spring break next school year. It's amazing to think about how I could get a grand villa at OKW and a 2 bedroom standard at PVB would still be more points. Price point is ridiculous now compared to late, but when you think if I only add 50 more points, that only gets 2 nights in a studio at Polynesian in the lowest season for a regular studio. I could get 3 nights in a Duo Studio that is standard view. OKW, I get 5 nights in a studio. Not only is OKW less points, I paid $100 per point less than I did for my original PVB. And yet, here I am about to buy one last small direct contract. Once again, the resale points are not even worth it for me to look at a resale for that number. I had expected resale for even 50-point contracts or less to drop, but they just happen.
