Didn't go back to see if this was posted but.... Per a sales CM Island Tower rooms can be booked on Oct 15 ONLY for current Poly members who purchase additional points on Oct 1 Nov 5 current Poly owners can book All other members can also book Nov. 5, which is a bit disappointing because current members have no advantage. This is incorrect. Disney posted this (and I put it in here earlier) - all current and add ons can book October 15th, new to DVC PVB owners will be Nov 5th, and all remaining non-PVB owners wait until Nov 19 to book. Confirmed by my new guide and part of the info they send out.

WOW!! I think that is the highest opening price for a WDW dvc resort. Will be curious to see how well it moves. Anyone buying direct? resale looks much better to me.

VDH was $230 Still toying with 25 to 30 points more here. I did my latest add-on with resale though. Had they not ROFRd the one contract I put an offer on that was accepted, I wouldn't even be thinking about it. We'll see what the resale prices are doing, but right now a lot we're hovering closer to $200 so the savings for under 100 points is marginal. We'll see if prices start shifting today or not.

I’m not so sure these points are going to fly off the shelf. Even to borrow through Disney those interest rates are still high. I’m reading some people who were enthusiastic about buying backing off some waiting to see what the incentives would be ( and now are).
Has Disney ever come out with incentives better than opening day?

Has Disney ever come out with incentives better than opening day? I get torn on this idea. I am one who will never add on if I have to finance it. I will say that does not feel like the norm on big DVC forms that I see. There are plenty of posts regularly that talk about people happy that they finally paid off their loan. Current rates are 9.49% but a reduction to 8.99% for 20% down if you do direct debit. I am not sure I'm seeing a reduction of people who were excited. For a decent population of people, the point charts are just simply too high. But then you have long-standing owners who are super excited for more. Admittedly, I am looking at more neutral sites right now. I know there are a couple that are very PVB negative anyway and I'm avoiding those. I'm going to go seek out my Polynesian only locations today and see how people are feeling.

My guide just emailed me the whole info package. To finance any points the interest rate is 11%! Wow, and I’m not seeing a discount in interest rates if you put down more deposit or have a better credit rating.
If I can remember how to post a pic, I’ll post it here.

I am not surprised about the less than stellar "incentive" for pre-sales for this resort. This high buy-in cost will not deter sales over the next few months at Poly.

It will out sell RR every month until the end of sales.

Certainly the strong advice on other timeshare boards is to never buy a timeshare if it can't be purchased outright. I can't imagine buying something like a timeshare on credit. Seems a very bad idea and an indication that one can't really afford the luxury purchase.
Cheers.
