I was trying to respond with respect and showing understanding for your description . I just worry that some guests are not familiar with traveling on Disney property. Sorry if I was misunderstood and caused frustration . I actually was just getting ready to delete because I have a tendency to go Off Topic or take over a conversation . And this was truly a nice trip report until I posted! Trying to apologize… Since you have already responded I won’t delete anything . No worries. It all made sense and I was just clarifying my stance since I may have been brief in my description as well. All good.
And, to be fair, I opened that can of worms by mentioning the interaction in the first place
Cheers.

Thanks much for taking the time to post your thoughts and the pictures. We enjoyed a one night stay in a VGF Grand Villa, with 5 of us. We had a handful of expiring points and needed one night before a cruise. It was a great experience but not our style or taste. Narcoossee's on the other hand.... Our absolute favorite fine dining on property!

That raccoon picture made me think, we were getting off Jungle Cruise at night and I was using those drinking fountains that are on the lower level there, and this possum walked out from behind the wooden "crates" that are there...He was maybe three feet away, he looked at us, we looked at him, he tipped his hat and walked back into the jungle.
Cool new animatronic they must have slipped in.
Too bad most people won't see him, because heaven forbid anyone uses a drinking fountain at the parks. Except to take five minutes to fill up several of those giant metal bottles that everyone seems to carry these days...they don't seem to notice that there are fountains all over, negating the need to carry those giant metal bottles in their giant backpacks.

I carry a reused 30 oz. water bottle that I got at a concert. And I try to find the increasing number of bottle fillers and use those rather than the fountains. I would much rather do it that way, and drink from my bottle. Far more efficient than searching for a water fountain and drinking from it when in need. To each their own, but I definitely understand why folks carry water bottles.
And I carry a quite small sling bag with plastic utensils, metal straw (for frozen coffee drinks) and a few other things.
As for the animatronic opossum...how much had you had to drink, other than water, prior to that point?
Cheers.

As for the animatronic opossum...how much had you had to drink, other than water, prior to that point? But Magic Kingdom is a dry kingdom! Mostly Speaking of the bottle fillers, I do like them. My wife likes to drink out of something other than a fountain, so I usually carry in a small shoulder bag either a plastic water bottle or just a paper Disney cup. So the bottle filling stations are awesome...but what I don't understand is this: Why is the water pressure so low at all the fountains? Bottle fillers included? It comes out so slow. If somebody turned a valve somewhere, the lines at the fountains would be much shorter. Often I just fill the cup or bottle in the sink in one of the bathrooms. If you are lucky, you find a faucet that has good flow.

Also, the Dessert parties also serve alcohol. I am still awaiting details on the new Pirates Tavern that is coming to Magic Kingdom.
Counting the dessert parties, there are 10 locations that currently sell alcohol in magic Kingdom.

At Epcot one cannot walk out of the park with a beverage because it could be alcohol, so all drinks must be finished inside. On our last trip we walked out of MK twice with coffee for the reason you mention - no free-walking alcohol, so it must be nonalcoholic to leave the park.
On one of these occasions, we walked from VGF to MK just to get coffee and leave, planning to come back later.
Cheers.

I agree with everything you said in your review, I'm glad you liked it. We have stayed several times and typically get a park view in the new building actually we will be there this weekend and we're looking forward to trying Narcoossees for the first time since the refurb. We also enjoy having a drink in the Enchanted Rose Lounge especially if you can get a seat on the outdoor balcony.
We have also tried to game the system to get an early check in by driving onto property by about 7:00am, so far we are 0 - 3 so it would appear that Disney's algorithm could care less what time you get on property.

Appreciated your review and the photos! Thanks for posting!
It was nice to see the inside of the GF villas and the GF grounds. Narcoossee's is also one of our favorite dinner spots and we have found when we don't think to get an ADR we can usually get in at the bar (if you don't mind sitting there). Haven't been to Polite Pig yet but hope to take DH on our next trip so he can check out the Bourbon Bar. Last visit we went to the STK Happy Hour on your suggestion and loved it!

We are very specific with our room requests. For this stay, we gave them two very specific room numbers - 1507 or 1607, which are standard view dedicated 2-bedrooms.
Just wanted to update our room assignment.....We got room 1507, one of the two we had requested.

Not hijacking the thread, I swear, just making a comment about room requests - we recently got back from OKW and had requested "Turtle Pond" and "upper level", and got the exact same room as when we were there in December.
The only thing I didn't like about that room was the color of the recessed lights over the kitchen counter. They used the hideous (to my eye) 4000K (give or take); a different room we had not too long ago (in a different building) used the same lights but in a 3k. Personal opinion, of course.

Our room had warm bulbs, but there were a few in the bedroom that were either 4k-5k. Drives me nuts when people replacing the lamps do not match or check the kelvin of the bulbs. They have to notice it when they turn back on the lights.
