I've been thinking about it for a long time.
Several of you have encouraged me to consider it.
It seems like it might be somewhat helpful to others. Or at least mildly entertaining.
I started Chapter 1 of A Decade of Disney tonight.
It was so much easier to write than I thought it would be! Granted, this is the easiest year in the decade. Not only do I have all the stories in A Year of Disney (my first book), I also have several videos up on youTube for reference. I laughed and glowed when thinking about some of these early experiences. It was pure joy!
Although I'm sure the editing/refining process will bring that pure joy back to earth at some point.
I also did the outline for the whole book. I wasn't sure if I had enough to share about what we've learned, experienced and did wrong over the years to really do a whole new book, this time spanning a decade instead of a single year. Looking at the outline, I think maybe the challenge will be cutting it down to what matters most.
I do regret not having the TRs I wrote over the years on the old MO site available as a resource. Oh well. I do have tons of visuals, some facebook reporting and a few notes tucked here and there from various trip planning exercises. I think there's enough to prompt memory as needed. And, if I get some of the details wrong because the memory is not as sharp as it was a decade ago, maybe that's also part of the process of investing that much time into a preferred vacation destination.
From joining DVC, to moving away, to buy and selling a vacation place in Orlando to planning to open our own little RV park by the end of this year, perhaps there is an interesting story I can tell about our personal Decade of Disney.
The only real question? How on earth am I going to find the time to write another book with everything else on the plate that I'm so very excited to do right now???!!!
