Lunch at the boathouse today was nice. Large gathering, great service, lots of fun, and great food! We noticed that Disney springs was much more crowded today this afternoon. So, I guess we were just lucky. I think the Broward County schools have spring break this coming week.
We headed to the chocolate Kingdom factory afterwards. Drive was about 25 minutes from Disney Springs. The place was located in a type of strip mall. The tour was full of people, it is every hour on the hour until 4pm. Reservations seemed needed, but that could be because it is Friday.
They definitely have this tour down to an art. It was a lot of fun, with a bunch of samples to try thru the tour. We all learned a lot about the making of chocolate, where it comes from, etc…our boys were even following along and totally enjoyed it! The whole thing lasted bout an hour and ran us about $88 with 10$ of it for a single customized to your liking, large chocolate bar, that will be enough for all four of us.
Our review is that this was worth the money, educational, and quite tasty! I don’t think you do it more than once…unless you really love chocolate!

For some reason, I also heard/saw that crowds were very light this week. I read that the annual passes for locals are blocked out this week, so maybe that is part of it. Sounds like you are having a great time!! It probably has to do with the AP blockout. The busiest days I have seen at DL have been the days before a blockout period. Crowds are often more tolerable during days when most passes are blocked out.

Well, on Saturday we went to MK and I can tell you that it was NOT empty…lol. We had a slow start and got to the park around 11am. The weather was great, we had gifted some tickets to close friends (and two littles) of ours and had a great day hitting the rides we wanted. The kids got to pick what they wanted to ride, so they were thrilled. We then decided to have dinner at our vacation home, and had Chinese food. Sadly so,ething didn’t sit well with me, and I woke in the night with chest pain, which I attributed to heart burn. When I got out of bed I realized my left arm was feeling “off”…of course I started to freak out, thinking heart attack….
When DW and I were talking we spoke about perhaps something in the food that I ate..and she said MSG. some quick google searching after and we read that the symptoms I mentioned (and some not mentioned) was experiencing matched. Needless to say, drinking lots of water and time…before our drive back to our “home home”, things starting getting back to normal slowly. About an hour into the drive back, things fully normalized. Crziness, as I had never experienced this kind of issue.
Besides the last morning of craziness, it was a great spring break, family together and having fun and we are looking forward to doing this again next year for spring break as well.
Separately, with the places we were looking off Rheams road, they were a bit pricey for what they were. We saw one that was ok, but it backed up on Rheams road, so we kept looking. Now that we know that area a little better from driving around, and talking to some people, it may make it a little easier to do some searching at our leisure, and then determine which direction we want to go. Is the price difference worth being 10-15 minutes away from the parks, and avoiding 15-25 minutes of I-4 traffic…

We're heading to MK today. I'm interested to see how it is. Our spring break is 2 weeks later than usual (stupid IMO). Ye sterday we were at Epcot. It was not bad at all. Not compared to last year (Sunday but central Florida spring break).
We'll see what we see.

Monday is historically a busy day at Magic Kingdom. Why, because it is Monday is the start of many WDW vacations and its the first Park everyone wants to go to start their vacation. Dang it! I never know what to do. We usually fly in Saturdays (or Fridays) so I assumed most families flew in on Saturdays and got the MK out of their system on Sunday. But now I am hearing otherwise... I know Saturday and Sunday = bad at MK. Now Monday also... Based on the last several times we went to WDW, I guess we might as well just assume every day is bad at MK. No "good" days.

Well, on Saturday we went to MK and I can tell you that it was NOT empty…lol. This is pretty much my experience every time someone says "It's been quiet lately" or "crowds should be low" or there are these pictures with nobody there...I show up and it is NOT.

This quote is from Disney.....for what days to visit Magic Kingdom.
It's ideal to go during the midweek days during the local school year like Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are hit-or-miss with crowds because you'll find that there are still many Guests who are kicking off their vacations or getting one more day in before returning home. Saturdays and Sundays are usually the busiest days of the week.
As a bonus.....Tuesdays are historically the lowest crowd day at Magic Kingdom.

It is really important to exclude coronary artery disease. Angina has the exact symptoms and timing that you described. For many, there are signs and symptoms that are ignored for months to years until a big one strikes. Please speak with your doctor.

We saw a lot of people checking in yesterday and surprisingly today too. MK wasn't as bad as expected actually. I was dreading this week compared to last year and I've seen worse.

A friend kept passing off heartburn as food issues and it was heart issues instead. Hope your day went well today.

It seemed to us that for many years Floridians stayed away from WDW. Disney seemed to have a bad employer image. When our eldest moved to Tampa around 2010 she couldn't find anyone who wanted to go with her to WDW. Then over the next couple of years her friends all started to want to go. Now it seems that many of the people we bump into are Floridians. My sisters Florida family all avoided WDW until about the same time because the ticket deals to Uni and SW were better but now they go also. I don't know what changed the tide but it does seem like the parks are full of locals (entitled frustrated locals - LOL).
