It's not a rumor. First food truck was spotted today on the Boardwalk last week. Totally forgot to post until I saw some pics

Only the best for Boardwalk guests! I laugh but that will be me in May/June.... sigh. Cake bake shop looks like it finally has walls at least. So maybe some decade it will open too. Not that I plan to eat there.

I guess we’re in the minority here, we never liked this place. We would try it every year or so and either be meh or disappointed. The family and I were actually pretty happy to hear that it was closing with the anticipation that something new would come in. I think a casual sit down would be great- a d-luxe burger would be great. Although there are some other casual options nearby to hold people over. There is the Fountain at the Dolphin and Kimonos at Swan. Plus Yacht/Beach options.
I’m hoping Patina Group takes over that space and put something good in. We have a tendency to really like their restaurants.

Just not by a lousy food truck with no real plans for the place announced. Though from articles I read the remaining BRG locations both closed down within months with little warning. Even with Fountain and Beaches & Cream, I wouldn't mind a Deluxe burger style place. I don't always want to walk far if weather is lousy. Kimonos is a completely different vibe too. Actually since they redid Captain's Grille to Ale & Compass I wouldn't mind a similar to the old Capt Grille in terms of offerings. Less seafood and more options for vegetarians (not vegan only) as well as meat eaters combined.

We have a tendency to really like their restaurants. I don't know that you're in the minority, exactly. I'm just speaking for myself, but f they had closed in order to make, say, a D-Luxe burger, that'd be just fine. Instead, this closed without warning (from what I can tell, even Disney was surprised). And because Disney has neglected food options in the Boardwalk area for going on a decade, this leaves a larger hole than 'Big River Grille Closing' might otherwise have warranted. People upthread have mentioned Swan and Dolphin food options...I don't think they do much lifting at all. I just don't think a lot of regular guests even think to go there, and I include myself in that mix. Fact is, ESPN, BRG, and Boardwalk To Go have all closed in the last few years, and have collectively been replaced with absolutely nothing. It's a big gap. I hope they're reimagining the BRG spot in a positive way. Or at least can get the corn dog stand open this calendar year. I don't understand how carnies can get their corn dog fryers up and going in a different town each week but Disney needs eight months and counting to get theirs going....
