I couldn't figure out where to post this since it covers a lot of forum topics so if the moderators know a better suited forum, feel free to move this. Given past reports of extreme inconsistency on this, I'm curious about people's recent experiences with both AP and DVC discounts, specifically how are you being asked to verify discount eligibility? Are CMs asking to: - see a physical AP card (I'd hope CMs aren't asking for physical DVC blue cards since they're all expired)
- see a screen cap of the DVC blue card from the web site
- see the Affiliation information in your digital wallet
- scan the QR code in your digital wallet (I've never had anyone ask to scan it in the past)
- see Tickets & Passes or your profile Memberships & Passes in MDE (I don't think either would be useful for discount verification)
I know there was an extremely wide range of experiences a year or so ago and am wondering if that's still the case or if it seems CMs have finally been given consistent instructions for verifying discount eligibility. Full disclosure...I'm asking because our digital wallets still show "ANNUAL" in Affiliation (as well as DVC Y which is valid) and we still get AP discounts on shopDisney though our APs are now gone (a known glitch discussed previously on these boards). I also don't want to haul our expired DVC blue cards around if they've finally stopped asking for those but want to ensure we have a copy of the digital one from the DVC site if we'll need it.

Last week, for dining discounts (we're DVC and AP) I showed the waiter/waitress my ticket in MDE.

I was asked to show my wallet affiliation. MDE has been asked for too but not as frequently. So I would say it is still inconsistent with what they ask for between those two. No physical blue cards accepted. I have a digital copy on my phone but never been asked.

This past October we stopped at the DVC center in Disney Springs to get an updated hardcard for our AP and were told the Blue 50th Anniversary tickets were still considered 'current'. As far as the stores, they have only been asking for the digital.

In my past trip, I had to show proof from the MDE app.

Last month I was showing "Tickets and Passes" in the app, which says DVC member but doesn't necessarily show AP. It probably shows AP somewhere in there, though. We were getting DVC discount on stuff. One place, one place only, but I can't remember which, wanted to see it in my wallet to have it show AP. I wonder if it was Hoop Dee Doo; we had to go get the discount before the show (it didn't do the discount at purchase online).

For me, 90% of the time the CM wanted to see the Affiliation showing DVC Y. The other 10% of the time, they just gave me the discount without verification.

App works fine for discounts and Epcot Members' lounge. Easy peasy.
Cheers.

Most I show the discount in my digital wallet. There are a few who ask to see the expiration date on my AP on the app.

There was a lack of consistency last month on what the CM wanted to see.
This is what we were asked for:
1. Ticket showing expiration date in MDE. 2. MDE Profile of memberships 3. Wallet to see DVC Y 4. And NEW was checking the home screen on MDE. Next to your name is the AP flag.
Our CM friend said the home screen feature was something they recently added to MDE. And I was able to use that most of the time, except for OKW. They acted like they had never seen it before.

Our most recent trip, *almost* everyone was fine seeing the affiliation (DVC Y,ANNUAL) in the details screen of my digital wallet. One CM at RnRC gift shop, however, required me to go into the MDE app and go into my account there, along with my ID. Sheesh.

So, the only consistency to be found is the continuing inconsistency as far as what's requested as proof of discount eligibility. I wonder if there are plans to add a "DVC discount eligible" flag to the MDE home screen as mentioned here has been done for APs. Seems like it would be so much simpler to put discount entitlements in one location but I know Disney rarely opts for the simple approach when it comes to anything related to IT.

Under the My Profile section of the MDE app, my Annual Pass and DVC membership show up under Memberships & Passes. Most of the time I've been asked to show it to get a discount. In the last few years, that's the only place I've looked and the only thing I've shown and it has always worked. I don't know what a digital wallet affiliation is. At the DVC kiosk they did ask for my name so I could get the little DVC tag to put on my MagicBand. They said they had to look me up in the computer. For what it's worth, I'm a second-class DVC member but it's still listed under the Memberships.

I don't know what a digital wallet affiliation is. If you add a Disney MagicMobile Pass to your smartphones wallet app (Wallet on Apple, Google Pay on Android), that pass will show your affiliation (DVC and/or AP). There are two DVC affiliations: "DVC Y" and "DVC N". "DVC Y" is entitled to perks and discounts while "DVC N" is not. You add the Disney MagicMobile Pass from the MDE mobile app by going to the menu (3 bars) and then touch Disney MagicMobile. Inside of a WDW theme park, the Disney MagicMobile Pass can be used much like a MagicBand for park entry, room charging, LL/Genie + queue entry, etc. The one major thing a Disney MagicMobile Pass can't do is unlock your hotel room door. disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/magic-mobile/
