I dropped D+ as well. Just wasn't worth it to me. i'd rather one good movie a year than 20 crappy things they throw on D+ that's not how to do it. same with doing sequels. One is usually maybe fine but 3 and 4? I'm still waiting on an apology for Toy Story 4 Disney content used to be good and rather original. Now it's not. I completely agree. Toy Story 4...Why?? Now having said that - I would love to see a conclusion to the Toy Story series where Andy is married with his own children and he end up with all his toys back (maybe yard sale or something). I think that would close the series and it reminds me of the Kenny Loggins song "Return to the House at Pooh Corner." He initially wrote the song "house at Pooh corner" in high school as a farewell to childhood. Then after he got married and had his own kids he added the final verse (which always makes me cry). If not familiar with it he ends it where his stuffed Pooh Bear now belongs to his son who is holding the bear as he sleeps, Loggins kisses his son good night and the stuffed pooh bear whispers "Boy welcome Home" to him. I am crying as I type this as I love that song and feel it is so impactful and emotional. I listened to Loggins on an interview about how and why he wrote the song and then added the conclusion years later (hence return to pooh corner). In my opinion - What an awesome ending and closure something like that would be to the Toy Story franchise. That is a fabulous song and this is a great idea. We can hope that they take this path, but they don't seem too keen on wrapping things that they think they can milk in the future Cheers.

I have been so disappointed in Disney movies the last few years. My kids don’t even really ask to see them anymore because so many of their friends go to see them and say they aren’t good. Haven’t heard anything about Wish yet, but my kids are out of school for Thanksgiving Break.

My friends who went this weekend really loved Wish. It's going against Hunger Games I think though? Eventually I will watch it but a movie has to be really good for me to see in the theater now. Most of ours are pretty barren no matter what movie it is. That is what my friend noticed when she went. She was used to going a specific day over Thanksgiving weekend and having the theaters packed, and this time she said no one was there. Not just for their movie but as a whole the movie theater was dead

I sent it too DD. She texted back…thanks for making me cry.

We watched the latest Indiana Jones movie on our cruise. We both enjoyed it, but I’m glad I didn’t fork over major dough to see it.

When the theater was the only game in town (or wait months for it to come out on video and still have to go through the hassle of renting AND returning the movie), many of us went to the theater even for marginal movies. Times have changed and the younger generations have changed. The movie needs to be something you really want to see to go to the theater. Discounted pricing will bring extra people in, but even that has its limits. Now, we all know that movies will be streaming within weeks and it is so easy to stream. There will always be the theater aficionados, but they are fewer and far between.
I had high hopes for Wish, but it hasn’t done well in the theater. So, that means, you guessed it, I’ll just wait to watch it on Disney plus.

We watched the latest Indiana Jones movie on our cruise. We both enjoyed it, but I’m glad I didn’t fork over major dough to see it. It's about a girl who makes a wish on a star (who becomes that adorable character) to save her island after sensing impending darkness. The ruler of their island is a sorcerer who holds wishes hostage as he's been corrupted by dark magic. Sounds weird to explain but a more traditional magical type of Disney movie with a heroine and a villain. I used to love going to movies but as a whole I avoid them now. Times change and just like drive ins, I think traditional movie theaters just aren't a draw anymore. The parking lot by our theater (third owner in the last 10 years) is always empty when in the early 2000s it was jammed packed. Last movie I saw in a theater was the final Star Wars movie. I just don't care to go even with assigned seats

We still have D+. My daughter and I actually really liked the Goosebumps series. I do wish they had more shows and/or original content.

I think DD has it. She really watches it a lot. It all started because DH needed to change email addresses and it wouldn’t let him. So we had to cancel. Someday we May subscribe again but I didn’t see anything coming up to stream.

There will always be the theater aficionados, but they are fewer and far between. Agreed. For us, it generally has to be the kind of thing that really needs the big screen. Action movies and such. Because our theatre has $8 showings weekdays before 4, our bar is lower than it might otherwise be for what needs a theatre. But there are still "wait for streaming" movies. When Netflix still did disks (yes, they did them until a month ago and we still got them), we'd add them to our disk list. Now we will stream that which does not need the big screen.
Cheers.
