Prices for all tours are also moving to variable pricing with immediate effect, like VIP tours have been. And of course the old price for each is now the lowest in the range. Magic Kingdom Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour - $109.65 - $149. (Was $114). EPCOT Behind the Seeds - $39 - $45. (Was $35). EPCOT Seas Adventures – DiveQuest - $229 - $249. (Was $219). EPCOT Seas Adventures – Dolphins in Depth - $209. (Was $199). Disney's Animal Kingdom Wild Africa Trek - $219–$229. (Was $199). Caring for Giants - $39. (Was $35). Up Close with Rhinos - $49. (Was $45). Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort Wilderness Back Trail Adventure - $90–$99. (Was $90). www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/wild-africa-trek/news/11oct2023-variable-pricing-comes-to-walt-disney-world-tours-as-prices-also-rise.htm

Keys to the Kingdom is our next tour we want to take. I still have to use a park ticket to take the tour correct? If so that is like paying double a ticket price to take the tour and then stay in the park. Ugg.

Since the other thread was in tickets I opted to move these ro News.
We were talking tours for next year since kid turns 16 end of Nov. Considering Keys or the WL Segway tour since both have 16 age limit.
For Keys Park entry is required and always has been unfortunately.

For Keys Park entry is required and always has been unfortunately. A MK Theme Park reservation may still be required for Keys to the Kingdom after 1/8/2024 depending on ticket type.

Wasn't talking park reservations. Just answering if a ticket is needed to take the tour. But yes, park reservation may be required. Which I think is silly for this one tbh because of start times and lengths. I get it for short tours.

Continued milking of the cash cow division.
These udders are getting a worn out.

Continued milking of the cash cow division. These udders are getting a worn out. Ha! Perfect analogy Tom! Was looking at booking some but slow to pull the trigger. Higher prices just complicate the evaluation of best experience for the cost. I don’t mind paying if we get a great experience out of it, but one dud really sucks the fun.

Does anyone else remember when the Behind the Seeds Tour was free? I think it was around 25 years ago. You couldn't book it in advance-only day of. And that must have been a time when people trusted that things at Disney weren't expensive, there was lots of free stuff because there was no one else on my tour. Just me and two tour guides. I often wonder what they do now that's different from what they did then that makes it worth over $40.

Does anyone else remember when the Behind the Seeds Tour was free? We did it a number of times back then, and even since they started charging.
Cheers.

(Early 2000s is when I started going as a reference point) We booked it day of always. Was hard to book this year even early. So weird to have it full so far in advance.

I found an old price list from 2016 where it was $20 for adults. $16 for kids. Makes my memory of it being maybe $12-15 in the early 2000s likely.

We recently did both the seeds tour at epcot as well as the keys to the kingdom tour at MK. Both were great, and we would recommend them.
Previously, we had taken the KttK tour in 2014 I think, and while we didn't get to see any of the parade floats and such, we did get to go backstage to see the water works behind splash mountain, and we got to go under the Haunted Mansion (we saw the mechanisms for the illusions in the dining room -- it was *awesome*). However, this trip, we saw lots of parade floats and some other backstage resources, and we got to ride HM, but we didn't get to go backstage for it. I was disappointed and asked about it, and the tour guide told me that KttK never included backstage access to HM, and I felt kind of gaslighted. Was still a great tour, but it definitely changed a bit since last time we did it.
A few years ago we did the Segway tour at FW and while it was ok, there was *way* less Segway-ing than we'd hoped. The orientation took way too long, the segway training also took too long, then once we got going, we immediately stopped for the bathroom for 10 minutes. Then we rode for 10 minutes, and stopped again for like 15. Then another 5 minutes, and then stopped for another 15. Then another 5 minutes of riding and it was over. It was frustrating, as we definitely spent a lot more time off our segways than on them. I just wanted to ride around and look at stuff and enjoy the trails and nature, but nope.

That's a bit of a bummer. Kid turns 16 next month and we planned for one of the two of those. The Segway for us was awesome though. It was my 3rd or 4th or something Segway tour at Disney. The training does take long but trust me, some really need it. We definitely didn't feel we stopped and started on that one. But it was also just me, my dad and my brother so it was kind of cool. The KttK tour really disappoints me. I want the backstage stuff. Kid has already seen EWP floats and some other things backstage due to being in the marching band. It would have to be really special honesetly to go do it. Maybe Segway is our best bet.
