But park hopping tickets and AP holders still need to make a park reservation? Ugg not park hopping tickets that have a date on them. But AP yes. I don't think they have announced the "good to go" dates yet, but I'm hopeful there will be a LOT of them!

"Thank the Phoenicians!" aside: boy the reply and quote buttons are confusing!

At present, even if one does not check in to their reserved park, they can still "hop" to another park at 2.
Unclear in the change is when one can visit a second park if the reservation park is not visited.
Cheers.

But park hopping tickets and AP holders still need to make a park reservation? Ugg AP holders and anyone with non date-specific tickets will. Although AP holders can skip them if entering a park after 2pm, (other than MK on a Saturday). Date-specific ticket holders will not have to make park reservations as of Jan 9th. I’m expecting some Genie+ changes to come into effect the same day, but no confirmation as yet.

AP holders don’t need park reservations if they plan to visit after 2pm, but if you have made one you still have to go there

That's good news. No AP right now & no plans to get one anytime soon, but seeing at-will park hopping returning for 2024 is a big step in the right direction. Thanks for sharing!

I am taking the glass half empty approach.
Why is Disney taking so long to reverse the Park Hopper Rules?
At this point, there is no reason to keep them except to continue being cheap and squeezing the most profit.
People are paying more now for a single day to visit WDW and are getting so much less. The up-charges are worse than sailing on a Carnival Cruise Ship.

I am taking the glass half empty approach. Someone has to. For me, the fact that they;re removing it this soon is a glass completely full.
Cheers.

Will they still keep the 2PM for no reservation? Or will that get relaxed? If they do relax it, this works out to be a reservation loophole. Make no reservation, and "hop" where you want whenever. It may exclude early opens, though.
Cheers.

Nothing to indicate yet that they plan to change the 2pm for no reservation thing. Hopefully they will though, it just seems like a restriction for no good reason.

Still NOT happy. There is no reason for park reservations at all. CoVid is done, revenge travel is done, put things back to normal so ALL of us can be able to visit Disney using our travel styles (I’m shouting out for us go with the flow types!). Still not participating in Disney parks until those ressies are gone.

Except, Disney is not eliminating the park reservation requirement for non-date based tickets. Starting with visits on January 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. A date-based ticket requires you to choose a start date when you purchase. For other admission types, theme park reservations may be required. No Theme Park Reservation Required
- Date-based 1-day ticket
- Date-based multi-day ticket
- Vacation package with date-based tickets
Theme Park Reservation Required
- Student group tickets
- Sport and Convention ticket
- Annual Pass
- All other ticket types not mentioned above
For admission types requiring theme park reservations, be sure to check reservation availability prior to purchase. Please note that theme park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the theme park reservation is finalized.

I am very happy the park hopping restriction is going away!
Park reservations are a pain, but I usually have my days planned out anyway. Park hopping after 2pm is what really bugged me.

Except, Disney is not eliminating the park reservation requirement for non-date based tickets. Yes, I realize that that is the rule. But that was not my point. Right now, AP holders can hop at 2PM with, or without, a reservation. After January 9, hopping with a reservation has no time limit. If they also dropped the time restriction for having no reservation then it, effectively, removes the reservation requirement as one simply makes no reservation and goes where they want when they want.
The verbiage I've read so far does not address this, so that's why this is an if.
But it is independent of the actual rules in this case.
Cheers.
