Well, I hope you all can take the time to do a little research as I just suggested above in my post.
We all claim to love Disney but we are showing disrespect to Walt Disney if we do not try to learn about the History of Disney during this Anniversary. And then we can discuss all the reasons Mr. Walt Disney would probably want to take his name off the World but not the Land….just kidding …

But you are indeed correct that many are park-centric and have much less of a clue about the history of the man and the company that bears his name.

But you are indeed correct that many are park-centric and have much less of a clue about the history of the man and the company that bears his name. And there are those of us who do know about the man and realize that the rosy pictures we all like to have now are only a part of the truth. There are some dark sides to the history of the man and the company.
The claim that "Mr. Walt Disney would probably want to take his name off the World" certainly focuses on the rose-colored-glasses view of the man and would seem to ignore the other parts.
Cheers.

I guess that was a thought that I had about visiting the Walt Disney Museum In the Presidio . It’s a sentiment that I walked away with . The Family Museum is a different trip to experience . But the family seems to wants to keep the family name separate from the company today.
But I was not correct about the 100 Years Celebration this year. It is about 100 years of Disney AnimatedClassics. The story The Backstory and the significance beginning with Walt Disney and the creation of Mickey Mouse . And Steamboat Willie with a soundtrack.

It's the 100th anniversary of the Disney company. That was the day they were in contract to distribute work (Alice Comedies) d23.com/disney-history/Not sure why you think the family wants to keep separate from the company either. Diane Disney Miller created the museum thinking people didn't know the man behind Disney. That was all

And.....where this discussion has landed, has pretty much made valid my opening post. Its so lack luster, we don't even know what and why we are celebrating a 100 years of something. Looks like Disney is squandering its marketing for the celebration.

But the family seems to wants to keep the family name separate from the company today. It's not even so much about them "wanting" to keep it separate. They are separate legal entities and they have to keep it separate. They may want to as well, but it's not their choice to make.
Cheers.
