I just don't know why they cant run both movies. There are enough screens that they certainly could do this. Yup. That was my suggestion above. They have three theatres and could have several versions.
Cheers.

Dinoland overhaul is still in bluesky, so there is not much to say about it. I like the Dinosaur ride, I also like the Indy ride (I know its the same ride). I wish the ride was more popular, but it's not so change is needed. Honestly, I can see this possibly working out as a good replacement. I cannot ride, and therefore do not like, both the Dinosaur and Indiana Jones rides for exactly one reason -- the sickening and artificial bouncing motion of the ride vehicles. If there were some kind of option for a disability accommodation or plain old "request" that they did not bounce, but proceeded along the track without violently jostling their contents up and down, they would both immediately become some of my favorite rides at AK and DL, respectively.
Not the biggest announcement from D23, but limited time return of Soarin’ being reported on WDWMagic - Starting September 22, Soarin' Over California will return to EPCOT's The Land pavilion. This is the best news yet! We rode Soarin' 3 times on this trip and missed the original. So much of the current one is clearly CGI. California had more real content, or so it seemed, and more variety.
it would be nice if there was a choice by theatre, since they have 3.
Cheers.
Soarin' is one of my favorite rides -- it's so relaxing. I'd do it two or three times in a row if I had the chance.
I've always wanted to see the California version, but alas, when I visited DL in 2017 hoping to see it, they happened to be playing a limited run of the "world" version over there as well! Darnit!
Maybe I'll finally get to see it at WDW when we go in December.

Maybe Mrs Adelard would feel happier using the kiddie strap - just don’t call it that! I'll have to remember that! With Slinky, she would get terrified at one of the first big curve/drop combos right near the beginning. She would ask me about the part, saying she thought she was going to fall out and that she was looking straight at the ground, which admittedly seems very far away. After a bit, we figured out that I always let her board the train first (like a gentleman) and thus she was always on the left, and that is the side that is looking straight at the ground in that one spot. We switched, and she is no longer bothered by it and I get an extra thrill (I seemingly can ride anything). So Slinky is the ONLY ride where she makes me board first. Sometimes we almost forget...

I just don't know why they cant run both movies. There are enough screens that they certainly could do this. Maybe if demand is really high they could 1 (or 2) theatres showing California and 2 (or 1) showing Around the World. As long as it’s not random, like Star Tours is.

Just think, people might wait in line twice, to do both! It would be like they built themselves another ride for almost zero dollars.

Speaking of, every time I ride Figment's ride I am holding out this slight glimmer of hope that the skunk smell has been replaced with what it was when I was young: roses. It hasn't happened yet.

IMO, This is all short or what they needed to say. They better get their plans in gear... and quick.

I'm excited for them to pick up the pace on some of these things, rather than the 4+ years a la Tron Lightcycle Run and EPCOT construction timelines we've been seeing...

The scent of rosewater is missed. Morning mist IIRC I honestly wish for Soarin that they would actually make a movie that is more like the old and how beautiful it was, but better quality. All the CGI, and all the bending of the scenery just looks awful. I am very happy to know that I can actually see the original again. New Soarin is now one I'm good to miss where before I really enjoyed it

Thank you for the D23 summary! Let's get moving on the Magic Kingdom expansion!
I will get to try Soarin' Over California again this month. I did not really care for it the first time I saw it. Compared to World, that is. Both of them are great, but I prefer World. Since many others seem to prefer California, I am looking forward to giving California another chance.

I think for those of us who saw the original Soarin' first, we realize the photo quality isn't up to snuff, but knowing how little CGI was done and how the scenes aren't bendy (leaning tower of Eiffel anyone?) that makes it superior. That and orange groves

I never thought about this before but I grew up in the 50s with Walt Disney World of Color and Tink was always the Best… More so than Mickey Mouse . And that is the highlight of seeing Tink at the end of the Soarin Over California… I see you Mickey waving but Tink is just as fantastic to see !
