Lol I cannot get my kid to even tell me where he wants spring break. Due to passport worries with delays we are definitely staying domestic (I won't renew his early since he turns 16 this year).i have two different places in case we do Florida (PVB and OKW). No clue about summer but have OKW booked. Not sure I'll get another trip in with marching band. I'm already being bad and skipping a home game this year.

love it. Where do you find OKW music? Do you remember for a short time they changed the music and everyone complained because they wanted that tropical vibe playing. So they went back to that. Is this from like three years ago? Or a longer ago time. About three years ago they had a new loop up at front, playing in the store and on the walkway in front of the food. I started to shazam all the songs but I never did get them all; the next year we went and the traditional loop was back. The "new" loop was more like reggae-inspired versions of Disney songs. A few years back I happened upon a list of the songs that make up the OKW loop, the loop that plays at the store and by the food, as well as at Turtle Pond quiet pool. A number of them were just "miscellaneous steel drum band" but there is maybe 3-4 hours of music. They are all real recorded songs, like Jimmy Buffett and Harry Belafonte and then lots of reggae including but not limited to Bob Marley, some Hawaiian tunes actually, and then lots of steel drum stuff. I used to go onto Intercot I think it was, to play the music; they had listed "Two Pina Coladas" by Garth Brooks which I find fitting, but that song definitely does not play on the loops since I've been going. The loops on the busses are a little bit different, the songs are all from the big loop but there are less of them and they are in a different order.

I don't hate OKW, it was the original DVC. We are SSR people. Members either love OKW or they love SSR, rarely is it both.....or many hate them both. Ever since SSR updated the rooms I actually quite like both. Each for its own reasons. Oddly for us a regular love of BCV has dropped and SSR has increased Yeah. We like both, too. They both have their own charm. I never was a big fan of BCV, but I love BWV.

They both have their own charm. I never was a big fan of BCV, but I love BWV. I liked BCV more than BWV at first. Our only negative to BWV is no dedicated 2 bedrooms. Now that's swapped too. I don't mean that BCV is bad, it's just lower on our list. SSR used to be bottom, now it's VGF. Times change feelings on rooms I guess.

I think OKWs studios are weirdly set up too. I love OKW in 1 beds and above though. The rooms feel much nicer. My wife and I LOVE OKW, but we have never stayed in a studio there. 1bd (or 2) only for us. Will try a grand villa in a few years.

We used to hate SSR. My sis-in-law owned SSR while we owned OKW and we each preferred our home resorts. But after the SSR renovations with the murphy beds, plus the development of DS, we fell in love with SSR.
First time we went over to Riviera, for dinner at Topolinos, I thought 'meh'. Felt cramped and looked nice but was thinking cheap finishings that would get beat up quick like at BLT. Then we stayed there and also started hopping over to enjoy Bar Riva a lot. That place is our go to when it's a little chilly out in Dec-Feb months. They have heaters in the ceilings. Anyway, now we just adore Riviera. Used to prefer BCV as our Epcot resort but now it's Riviera.
It is good we all have our preferences. It wouldn't be so great for everyone to be trying to book the same place. And the preferences do change over the years. We are also empty nest now. So we look for different things now as opposed to 2006 with littles. ANd we will look for different things in 10 years probably.
